Well, the people against the CS can be against the CS all they want, at the end of the day, you can always save up and get the mount another time, or you can have it now, and be $30 poorer. At the very least, SE does not rotate the items in a cash shop, and all items are available all the time, unlike a certain company that removes outfits whenever they want to...

I don't think the act of spending $30 is the main complaint for most people. It's more that SE is double-dipping it's playerbase by charging a monthly sub, and then on top of that selling them additional items that are not obtainable in game.

Also, $30 is pretty ridiculous for a mount. Spending $30 isn't going to break the bank for most people, but that doesn't change the fact that the pricing is absurd.

All MMOs do it, at least that I know of.

Least this game is cheaper than most for the silly cosmetic things, this mount is a little pricy, but if you look at WoW that charges $25 just for a race change, we really have it better than most. Their mounts are all about $20 to $30 as well and they are way less detailed.

Cause it's not the same at all. I would not mind buying that mount which is 2 month sub if i did not have to already pay those 2 month sub to have access to the game...

Not only that, but the effort and time required to obtain the item would have to be difficult and lenghty to justify it being free vs25$ , which would probably stll leave a segment of players without it.

Maybe but then you would have :
- Those who choose to pay
- Those who choose to farm
When now you just have those who choose to pay, meaning those who can't afford it can get a chance to have it. If people have extra money to spend, then glad for them, but what about those who can't afford 2 month sub for a mount ?
Adding this in the CS without giving them the abbility to get it IG via work and dedication is like saying "yerk, you are poor, our exclusive team won't work for you" it's a kind of discrimination and i've been told, since i was a kid that discrimination is bad.

Actually it is. World of warcraft has a very large cash shop and it is also a pay to play MMO, and you don't see a large thread of complaints on their forums every time they add something to it.

The cash shop exists. Nothing in there is needed, they just made a cute mount and put it there for people who wanted something extra to support the game. That's all that needs to be said.

Well if cosmetic doesn't matter let's stop putting housing itens, mounts, minions, dyes, glamours, emoticons, hairs in the game. I mean, they don't add anything to the gameplay anyway.
I wouldn't care if this was GW2, for example, then I could put all my money in cosmetics itens because guess what, I wouldn't be paying a sub already.

Well no, I wouldn't care, because I understand business and how this stuff isn't necessary, I also have a plethora of disposable income what with this being basically the only game I play these days, so whatever. But you're taking it the extreme and saying they shouldn't put cosmetic things in the game again and just put it all in the cash shop-which is ridiculous and won't happen.

If you don't like it, don't buy it. But I don't want them wasting resources on little quest chains and what have you so we can get it in the game. I'm perfectly fine with this.

Wow... Lets take a reskin Fat Chocobo and make it look like a Moogle, not even trying anymore huh guys? lol But HOLY twelve 30$ for a reskin!? (2 month sub worth) There going to make bank off of this seeing its digital info that cost nothing to reproduce. The Odin mount was a bit worth it because it was unique, this though..? Not so sure. And why is it that 2 seater mounts always have to be locked behind something and not earned in-game, I'm surprised there isn't one for commendations yet seeing that 100% depends 3/7 other random people voting for you *sigh*

It doesn't look anything like the fat chocobo mount. You may be looking at the white fat chocobo from the amazon promotion.

If you look at their forums and the announcements you essentially have this entire thread of arguments every single time. I know there was a huge backlash when the transmog helms were put up and people even became abusive in game to anyone that had them. I haven't seen them create any further transmog items for the shop. These things tend to create quite a bit of tension.

Oh yes you do. Not only on the forums but elsewhere as well. Check out the official WoW "Mystic Runesaber" video on youtube and see how many likes it has versus dislikes. The CS in sub-based mmos is very similar to dlc in other video games. We used to get a lot more for our money but enough modern consumers, for some reason, are perfectly ok with being double or triple charged. Thus these trends of paying more money for less content will continue as they have for the past decade.
