^ While I am not guilty of this exactly, I will say that I primarily play damage dealers and healers, so when I tank Leveling roulette for the Grand Company bucks, I am not at my greatest. With that said, I may lose threat on 1-2 mobs throughout the dungeon for a few moments, but otherwise I make sure I know what I am doing before I queue up.

My friends and I have noticed that a lot of mentors are simply not that great at their role or the game. I guess that's what happens when it measures a quantity and not any quality. I think it would be nice to force wannabe mentors through a trial that proves they know their role well, kinda like Stone, Sky and Sea.

Considering how often I run into people who give me flak for not explaining anything even though nobody actually asked for anything to be explained, I'm gonna have to go with a no on this.

People would be reporting mentors any time they did not tick every little box of their mentor criteria, which could be anything ranging from "not being a douche" to "not ready checking before EVERY fight" to "not dusting off everyone's shoes before starting the run"

If he's "afk", yea that's bad but if he's dpsing that's the normal procedure.

I assume by abuse they mean the mentor just left any roulette that wasn't a quick guildhest or something else really fast, basically giving the DC finger to any EX trials or lengthy/annoying dungeons, kicking any players that even slightly slowed the run, demanding speed runs always and vote abandoning at the drop of a hat. That's what I've seen other lowlifes gunning for this achievement say they do. If this person actually qeue'd up for and ran 2000 runs without being a self-centered sack of crap about it, kudos to them, but I doubt it happened that way.

Considering anyone who worked on the relic would definitely spam the hell out of the mentor roulette for extra eso, how there are hundreds of JP macros to explain each fight and how JP DF is miles better than the NA/EU one it's not too farfetched to believe it was done legitimately.
Even if someone asks "why would anyone queue for 15 roulettes a day since day one" they wouldn't but they probably ran a lot more when the relic needed that insane amount of eso/poetics.

Even if the 'not-knowing-the-strat-people' don't identify themselves, it is often plain obvious they don't know it and real mentors should act consequently (explaining the strat).

Suggestion summed up : being able to report mentors to deprive them of their mentors status should enough report be accounted for in order to force mentors to act as mentors not leeches.

Sorry if this report already exists but I didn't find any.

    The mount.
Seriously, is there people really doing this roulette for the mount?
I am a casual player, and I do the mentor roulette maybe once or twice a week when I think about it and when I have time. Just to help people.
Assuming someone with more playing time and doing the roulette twice a day, this person will need 3 years in order to get the mount.
Assuming now a crazy guy doing 20 roulettes a day (so something like 10 hours a day doing only this), he will need 3 months. Is there people crazy enough to do that only for a mount?
    ...
I think no one is doing this roulette for the reward.

A mentor is not obligated to give advice unless asked. And even then, most fights can be explained in 2-3 sentences. Not to mention it's a two way street, newbies should put forth the effort in researching content they are not familiar with, there are tons of guides and videos available for one's perusal. Stop acting like mentors are beholden to you, such an entitled opinion. If mentors are being jerks and harassing you for being new then report them, but if they aren't doing anything to you then it should not be grounds for stripping mentor status.

Even new players sometimes like to learn as they go.

Kylki, you make it sound like you expect mentors to know everything and that they must supply this information to you in advance. Nothing regarding the mentor system makes one am expert. They're just going to be somewhat more familiar with the subject. Almost every dungeon cam be summed up as "kill the things, don't stand in colours.". If there's a specific mechanic you encounter and we're unsure of, all you gotta do is ask! Even if the mentor is unsure of an answer, that isn't a crime.

Please stop holding mentors on this lifted pedestal. I mean I'm one myself and while I love to give answers where I can, it's strange to see how dependant others can get on this.
    Pretty much this.

Whenever you put a reward at the end of something people will flock to it regardless.PvP Glamour? Expect bad or uncaring people to flock to PVP just to get it. Same with mentor, some people have zero interest in helping, they just want the shiny reward at the end. However it should be noted that just cus a person is a Mentor, they won't know the ins and outs of every single dungeon/trial. You can ask but they may just say "I don't recall this at all"
