My opinion on endgame gear progression : DRK i225, 4th month of subscription

I kinda disagree with the statement that" Raiders do not have better gear".
At the beginning of a new endgame Raid the only way to get 240 gear is through the "endgame Raid" . that also includes upgrade items. 3 Months later they are releasen a so called "catch up patch" where u can get the upgrade items outside of the Raid , except the uprade for the Tomestone weapon. Relic is just a grind and the relic will "never" be on par with the latest raid weapon which they made clear at one point in an Interview which is good because u can get it pretty damn easy, just a bit of time investment and you are done.

In my personal Opinion it is "not" worthless to do endgame Raids because u can achive 240ish gear within weeks when the new stuff gets released. the Tomestone gear u can get is kind of ok. hurray you can get full 240 once the catch up patch gets released, but 50% of that gear has bad a Stats which is not even worth getting while the people who are Raiding getting the BiS Pieces they are looking for if they put the effort into doign the Raids

besides after like 3 Months the dedicated Raiders normally have everthing cleared or at least shortly after the catch up patch

So for those people the "Catch up Patch" is as much worthless as your own opinion of getting gear easy once 3 months have past etc. simply becaus they already are 240 already or close to that etc.
And yes Raiders have better gear , same item level maybe but the correct pieces which gives the the most benefits, look at the Lore gear 90% of the gear has a shit ton of Acc which u dont need at all. with the gear from the Raids u can optimize your gear better. a mix between Raid gear and Tomestone Gear for "best in Slot" was always the case ever since "Realm Reborn", plus beeing full 240 Tomestone pretty much shows other people that you are not Raiding, this is nothing special. Gear is no excuse for beeing a good Player. besides most people, as much as they want the gear, 99% are doing it becaus they " enjoy it". They like the Challange and i personally think that it is fair for those people to get rewarded with way better ger or weapons.


now to the Point of boredom : If u personally think that there is nothing much to do other then daylies etc. either u have not tried out other stuff or not even attempted to give raid a shot, or u are simpyl burned out and you need a break.

every one has a different opinion/ statment on that which is totally fine.

PS: the people who are Crying about getting everything shoved into the butt, a Scrub is a Scrub ....Gear and other stuff will not Change that.
And i highly doubt that they will Change this Game into a "Pay to win" RPG by implementing gear into the mogstation that gives u a boost of god knows what. the moment they do that they can turn this game into "Free to Play" by all means and i doubt that they would do that, Mog station has cosmetic stuff and they will stick to that, plus it would sort of Ruin SE's reputation.

As a new player I just don't see a point in raiding.

One problem, probably for you: you pretty much joined the game when there was already a "catch up patch" etc. so no surpise to me that you could upgrade so fast tbh.
Wait until 3.4 comes Out and tell em again that you can gear up fast. If u do NOT do raids or primal fights at all ( which i assume considering u told us that u still have 210 weapon etc.) it will take you 3 Months to get the highest item level gear while people who are doing the raids etc. are already way ahead of you. and as i said earlier: Having full max ilvl tomestone gear does not mean that you have the best gear possibloe becaus that is not true. And you are no where even with Raiders, there are many other factors alongside Gear that makes Raiders better then your Avarage Gamer in FFXIV
