    When did this happen, and what's your source for it?

    The closest thing to an official public position that I've seen is that buying just to resell (flipping) is against the ToS, and so is selling for "exorbitant" amounts of gil. In the end it's at the discretion of the GM's, and they need some kind of in game evidence of the sale as well as someone reporting it. If your transaction is done outside the game's chat system, you're highly unlikely to get reported or punished.

    That is the right approach to take until the housing reclamation service is back again at which time you can get a large portion of the plot cost back without risking a ban. I do not know if the return is based on current plot values but I would assume so, even so it is still a substantial return that won't risk you getting banned unlike reselling outside of reclaim/relinquish would.

    I am not going to waste my time with you, I argued with you enough in the linked thread and so did a vast amount of other people. It went in one of your ears and out the other as you tried to wiggle your way around what you were being told and shown. I covered everything that I wanted to say to you in that thread already plus myself along with others countered all of your points there. I am not going to do it all over again in here.

    I am trying to help the OP, trying to stop him doing something that will get him banned...if he does not want to listen to me and others in here warning him then he only has himself to blame when happens along with people like you telling him he can resell it. Like I said in the other thread, you seem more than willing to tell others to sell them but truth be told it is easy for you to sit on the sidelines watching others get banned for doing what you are not willing to do yourself.

    Based on reports, you should get 80% of the 37.5M, which is probably more than you'll get someone to pay for it. Reclaim timer starts after tonight's patch, so if you don't enter the front door for 45 days, you will get back 30M at the end of August.

    There is some organized sources. And this is what I gleam from them:

    So in a nutshell, Try to sell it for its real value and don't make a profit out of it (Maybe a little is ok 5%?). So its a matter of selling them the information of when your plot will expire as you pretty much have to gain back your gil through reclaim to remain in ToS. (Unless its a FC plot which is transferable)

    This is covered under not disturbing other members of the community because trying to sell a 2m plot of land for 10m is seen as malicious.

    In a 'nutshell' he shouldn't try to sell it for any amount. He should wait for reclamation to restart and that way he can get a fair portion of his gil back without being banned. It is due to restart soon, he just needs to wait 45 days after that without entering his house.

    It's not a scam if both parties understand what goes into the transaction and follow through on their end. Person gives you agreed amount of gil, you relinquish plot when it's just the two of you there, you don't buy the plot right back up.

    Many off-MB transactions involve a possibility of scam, that doesn't make them scams. If I agree to craft you something with your mats, take your mats, and vanish, that's a scam. It doesn't mean crafting with someone else's mats is a scam.

    There have been people punished for selling and there have been people that sold without issue as of this time from various posts I've seen. It seems to be a coin flip. Your safest bet is to just wait out the auto-relinquish timer that I believe is supposed to start after maintenance tomorrow (don't enter the house for 45 days). Check patch notes when they post them to be sure.
