Let's just say your pulling a pretty big strawman here as you have no abillity to actually quantify what "15 dollars worth of stuff" is. This is a subscription based service and and evolving one at that. For all we know it costs them for more/less to develop any content in the game and we only have the market to use as a measuring stick to gauge the perceived cost of things.

The fact of the matter is that FFXIV has been profitable long before the heavy push for cash shop integration has been brought to the forefront. We can account for this with Square Enix's own financial reports of how well the game is doing. From that data one can extrapolate that they are obviously making a fair bit more money than they are putting into the game meaning that the consumer at the end of the day isn't really getting "15 bucks worth" they are paying 15 bucks to see the game continue development and any and all content added or removed from the game for cash shop purposes is reflected in that cost.

The only point you really have is that it is correct to state it's a state of supply and demand and (Sadly for some of us) demand is high enough that people feel it's worth the cost to them. On the flip side time can only tell how this effects the game long term user retention as customer apathy is a slow burn rather than a quick drop-off.

I would think it would be wiser to lend you that cash so you can purchase some anger management sessions.
I didn't think I was yelling at you or raging. c: Perhaps you might want to take a course on that boyo.

I'll add that people get lazy everytime a CS is added to a game. Why spend time doing quest / playing the Gold Saucer if you can just use your credit card ?

This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.

If they gave us no content for the money we're paying the game would die overnight, so please don't try to pretend the subscription is solely for server access; it is for the continued development of the game and you well know it. The additional retainers don't bother me because they're additional. We already get two for free and two is plenty for most players. It's only hoarders and hardcore crafters that really feel a need for the extras. They've already confirmed we're getting additional storage space for free in 4.0 as well.

If you purchase a three topping pizza it doesn't entitle you to a fourth topping, no. But if you pay a subscription for all-you-can-eat pizza buffet then I think you're perfectly entitled to request a new topping be added as part of that subscription. It is your analogy that doesn't make sense as you are not just 'buying a pizza'.

If you so desperately want to give SE your money please just go and buy shares in the company. You won't of course, because you don't actually care about SE making money. You just want your glamour ASAP so you demand it be in the cash shop so it happens sooner. If they implemented it in game in the next patch for free would you come to the forums and complain because you didn't get to pay the devs for it? No, you wouldn't. So why are you arguing so hard to be able to pay them more money than you already do?
I truly love how this has turned into a personal attack against me over stating that them receiving money benefits the company more. You are really quite immature about this whole thing to assume all of these assumptions you are having about me just now. I won't stoop to your level, but I will refute your points.

This is their game, isn't it? There is a side to every party in this situation. If something is benefitting them whilst not being a detriment, and a lot of people are happy about the implementation, do you really think SE should just stop after creating this entire system of purchasing Optional Items?

Would you truly ask a company to stop making successful business decisions that consumers actually utilize? If that is the case, you are being unrealistic.

There is a colossal misunderstanding here. The subscription is not an all you can eat buffet, and it never has been. You have to purchase A Realm Reborn, Special Edition 1, Heavensward, Special Edition 2, Fantasia Potions, and Additional Retainers all at a separate cost, and half of those I just listed have been there since the beginning of this game. Square Enix never implied, nor said, that you would obtain everything via your subscription.

If this truly was an "all you can eat buffet", none of these systems would've been in.

You not only assume I do not care about Square Enix making money, you also assume I am desperate to give them money. Like, desperate. Really? To be quite honest here, judging by how you've responded so far, my assumption of you right now is that you are lashing at me out of desperation because my viewpoint is different than yours. To me, that sounds "desperate".

First off, the system is already in place. There is not a single Main Scenario full attire set you can obtain outside of the Mog Station.

Do you realistically think that Square Enix is going just going to change how they release Main Scenario NPC attire sets just because I add that they should when they have a system in place (once again) that's profitable to them and consumers enjoy? I am working with how they do business, and I truly doubt they would change this system because of one thread on this forum. And at that point, I truly do not give two flying fat chocobo's if they continue with the current system and I have to utilize money for optional NPC outfits.

It does not bother me in the slightest as I understand why they do this. Disagree? That's perfectly fine, but I am absolutely entitled to my view.

Arguing so hard? Another assumption. I am merely refuting your points as you came into my thread and changed the subject and made it a new topic which I did not plan on happening.

Would I come on this forum and post about it? Probably not. But this is a request, and I'm not going to request something as trivial as a NPC outfit without it being in their favor in some way, and by that I mean them going out of their way to spend time on a trivial outfit. I rather spend money at the chance they do release it then hoping they just set aside dev resources for a free item.

I can see Yugiri's outfit/hair on the Mogstation as a memorial since her english VA was sadly murdered.

It would be pretty tasteless to spin a death into a profit making item.

    ...Just saying.

So memorabilia of dead actors/rockstars/etc are tasteless too? Guess they better stop making Elvis and Marilyn Monroe stuff then.
