I simply put both kiss on crossbar 3, which is never used in combat because i have yet to come acrosed a fight where i will use both. I simply put the correct one on for the given fight and leave it there. saves 2 skill slots for cross bar 1 and 2 (extended)

I'm glad I play on PC and don't have to worry as much about cramming abilities in. Compared to my MCH, NIN has less buttons to worry about it seems, so it hasn't been an issue.

I did just that, but with Defiance/Deliverance on my WAR. Nice and smooth.

For what little it may be worth I've found that as a controler player having "Shukuchi" bound to the R3 button to be very useful as the right joystick controls the camera alowing for quick activation and positioning... the only problem (apparently) based on earlier comments is that you have to do this by creating a macro, but saying that I have yet to have any issues with it.

For anyone who wants to try it just edit macro 98 or 99 to read:

    /ac "Shukuchi"

And if you're not familiar with editing the contorler setup:

System Configuration > Controller Settings > Begin [button] > Just scroll down the options for the R3 button till you find the macro.

As for Hotbar space I'm like most contoler players (I think); making use of both a primay cross hotbar and the expanded cross hotbar and yet still finding that I would like a third one for quick access to certain commands (in my case abilities like "Goad", "Smokescreen" and "Shadewalker"). For a long while I had a third bar set up that I could cycle to and then cycle back from back to my main, but recently I've experimented with the Hotbar customization option that changes your hotbar when your weapons are drawn and sheathed and set up my primay hotbar when weapons are sheathed to have abilities like "Goad" and "Smokscreen", abilities that I don't often have to use often but are still useful in combat at times. One advantage of this method is using the abilities when my weapons are sheated automatically draws my weapons so I jump straight back to my primary (combat) cross hotbar meaning I don't have to worry about cycling back or even worse getting lost in cycling back and being on the wrong cross hotbar. Now I should note that I use the L3 button to draw and sheath my weapon and as default the L3 contoller option is set to Draw/Lock on, fortunatly there is a contoller option that can change this to Draw/Sheath weapon so I would suggest if you try this option you change that as well otherwise you'll have to spend time deselecting targets or add the "Stance" command to your cross hotbar.

Now please note I'm not saying this method is better than cycling through cross hotbars it's simply something that I'm experimenting with and that for me seems to work better (it may simply be better suited to my playstyle)

I have "Assassinate" and "Dream Within a Dream" in one macro. The icon is "DWaD".

I've said it before, if you're going to try to automate your entire rotation, then yes, macros are bad. But in a case of a situation where you use that one buff with tat one move, 100% of the time, you might as well save hotbar space and macro it. No ned to go overboard and unilaterally condemn macros.

Agreed. One off macros are fine and help people save space or having to reach for certain keys they aren't used to hitting. Of course you don't want to automate a while rotation as you said, but for certain abilities it's definitely beneficial.

Enable Extended Crossbars and get rid of all your DPS macros. Everyone is better off.

So. . . DO add more buttons to possibly trip over (who hasn't had a moment when they fumbled around their own UI/button/skill/rotation sequence?) or keep Misery's End/Assassinate/Heartbreak on its own slot rather than setup a (well made) macro that uses it as soon as, and when most readily possible?

I mean, I'm trying to understand how the macro (no one knows I've used FOREVER now) that has effectively finished off many an adversary (especially in PvP) with a well timed skill use at its earliest possible chance has been so bad so far?
