Over 10 years ago I played FF1 with 4 white mages and beat it. Was challenging but fun and yeah those things can be memorable.

The more handicaps, the more fun I always say.
1) I'm blind.
2) The tank has 300ms latency, and is lazy.
3) The healer has a muscular problem and the reflexes of a zombie.
4) The Dragoon likes to elusive jump out of the ring.
5) We're all half asleep doing Titan EX at 3am.

We still win by the skin of our teeth.

Have you ever considered just stopping and waiting and either force them to learn before you continue, force them to leave, or get yourself kicked for no penalty? You are a tank. You control the fights.

I do not encourage to turn blind eyes either. That's right saying things my way can sounds like that. I will not complain you understand me that way.

Finally it is exacly an hidden point of this thread : the things we say and the way we say them, that goes for advices IG too.

When you see "turn off your computer", "leave that game", "go kill yourself", "please unsubscribe" the first day of the weeping city, because of a first wipe... Sounds like a very very very big problem.

People who have farmed Coil turns and Coil Savage turns probably find the Weeping City easy, and, finally it is not that hard if you pay attention -keeping in mind a mistake is always possible- but the gap between an advice and such ... words (not sure how I should call that).

Does the fact some people need advice allow to sentence them as we sometimes read?

How to push or lead people to progress? An IG individual parser could work, but the line is very thine. What kind of parser?

For advices, unfortunatly, there is no better way than in FC.

BUT never you will avoid people who wants to troll to do so if they suffer of a lack of education and abuse being anonymous on Internet. Unfortunatly.

And public advice can be taken as humiliating.

I wouldn't be. FFXI is at fourteen years and counting, and had a vigorous playerbase for the majority of that timespan. Though I will grant that FFXI had a lot more depth and complexity to it than FFXIV does (at the cost of balance). Naturally, though, even FFXI had folks crying, "The game is dying!" after only four years of service.

You know what is funny? When a bellow average player wants to finish the dungeon fast. I play mostly tanks and you would be surprised how many players for which the word "rotation" is a science fiction want to finish the dungeon asap.

We talk a lot about tips and critique being poorly worded, but it is really funny when a person who is not part of the interaction steps in that you are wasting their time or when they start ninja pulling mobs ahead.

It happened to me on several occasions, anecdotal evidence ftw, that I was explaining something to one party member while another one, who could have used some tips themselves but did not care enough to admit it, started complaining that their time was valuable.

This could actually be a way to solve this whole problem - slowing down to "unbearable" level. Entirely stopping doing the duty until the players learn. Spending an hour standing there reading guides and not progressing. It is kinda ironic but slowing the progression even more could actually be the way of motivating players to learn.

Based on evidence from Taiine, you can get reported multiple times by multiple people and SE won't do anything about it.

Kill the adds @ first Boss ARF or dodge the AoEs while icy ground on the last? Yeah, if you didn't realize, that the line can just be intercepted by the healer and the add only explodes with 3k damage

I wish. Almost no one wants to burn it down. I'll throw up my damage shields to soak some damage but the tank and melee always have to go play hero for me. The healer never intercepts either.

I'm getting more bothered though by tanks who drop tank stance and go into DPS stance, don't watch their enmity bars, lose hate to me even after I opened with quelling strikes, and cancel a Fire IV cast since I got hit. Then the healer has to stop doing what he was doing to heal me, and I have to assess the situation about whether I can start casting again, finish the boss off, or ignore it altogether to get that enochian refresh. -_- DPS all you want, but just make sure you're still tanking when you do it.
