People move for RP and raid and all sorts of things...if you're that desperate for a house, why not move for that? /snip

The reason for not moving to your dead server as a RPer is because it's a dead server and I'll say this bit again for folks who haven't thought of it. Even if convinced my FC to move to your ghost town server we'd have to leave all our gil behind so buying a house wouldn't be an option there either.

Is Adamantoise 'dead'? Seems active enough to me. And it's not like there aren't ways to keep most of your gil when transfering, with a little creativity.

As someone with only an FC's small house, go fudge yourself and stay out of threads about problems if you're only there to laugh at people less fortunate then you. I'm more lucky then most people here having one that I had to get into, what about everyone else? Should they just be unhappy and stop playing the game they like?

I think by 'dead' they meant the RP community. I've heard of RPers putting alts on other servers because Balmung was full but that it also never really went anywhere. The server itself might not be dead but the RP community could be.

Fine so it's not dead, what's the RP community like? Large? Cliquish? Non-existent? And what about the other aspect of moving you failed to address? Are we supposed to just leave behind 21+ million gil? And lets not forget we can't move as an FC we'd have to disband losing all the hard work that was put into Ranking and building Rep with GC. So see moving isn't really the solution. The solution is SE gets it's head out of it's arse and moves housing to a separate server and then adds wards as they fill up.

While you expend your inner rage on this issue, please understand that they are adding a form of instanced housing based around the idea of apartments, it's just not here yet, but it sill be here. Part of the reason they are adding the flower-pots is to help people be able to garden in their Personal Chamber if they are unable to obtain a house. But Instanced housing is being added in a subsequent patch. Presumably in 3.4 or 3.5. I believe that they will also be adding an entirely new housing area which means every server's housing supply will increase by 33% at a stroke when that is implemented. The new housing area will not be implemented until they have a housing transfer system in place to allow existing owners of houses the opportunity to purchase a plot in the new areas and transfer their home, including all furniture items. That will result in some plots being free'd up in existing areas as well.
