pb for faust, no reason to have it for hummel as you shouldn't drop GL.

If you're struggling with maintaining GL for the transition to Hummel, try delaying your last refresh so that you are able to land a hit right before the last one dies. You should then have around 5 seconds left when Hummel drops for the next refresh (be sure to form shift)

This is a good idea. If you don't do this and are unlucky you'll either lose GL at the last second or come very close to losing it..

I'm at a loss currently and could use some gearing advise from other Monks (I don't know many).

My question is, should I value stats over the iLevel (And the strength)? For instance the i240 Midan Earrings that I have give me Det and SS which I don't really need whereas the i230 Primal Earrings give me Crit and Acc which I do need.
Would it be better to ditch the i240 earrings even though they are i240?

This is my current gear: http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/U99V
I am sitting on about 1200 Lore because I don't know what pieces to buy since they all give worse stats then the i220 stuff.

Any help or guidance is very much appreciated!

Hitting the accuracy cap is more important than anything else, even if you have to give up other stats. Judging by your gear, I'd assume you're on A6S, so 676ish accuracy (688 for a7s).

As for comparing individual pieces, use the following weights (credit goes to dervy).

    WD - 12.668
    str - 1.000
    crit - .228
    det - .176
    ss - .137

That means crit is roughly equal to .228 of 1 str. To use the pants for an example -

    220 pants - 111 str + .228(70 crit) = 126.96
    230 pants - 121 str + .176(71 det) = 133.5

So the 220 pants are worth approximately 127 str where as the 230 are worth approximately 133.5 str. 230 arms are similarly an upgrade, while both also give a bit more accuracy.

So to give a suggestion (assuming you raid) I'd upgrade both your arms and legs, using two crit materia in the legs and one crit/one acc in the arms. This will give you enough accuracy (with pipira) for a7s. I'd use the 240 earrings, they're better stat-weight wise.

If the cap is definitely 699, probably this.**

** assuming you stick to affordable food, in which case pipira pira is pretty much always the best

Sooo in the i230 to i245 gear range monk doesn't have any crit det gear. Even after including the new 24 man gear the relic remains the only possible piece to have both crit and det

    Monk Full Burst Opener (testing)

I still can't decide if adding Tornado Kick into my opener would be a DPS loss if I were to open this way as a MNK.

Here is what I am doing for Hummelfaust for example.

    (With base 2.38 seconds GCD)
@ The 3rd Greased Lightning Stack:
    1. Internal Release
    2. Dragon Kick
    3. Blood for Blood
    4. Twin snakes
    5. Forbidden Chakra
    6. Elixer Field
    7. Howling Fist
    8. Steel Peak
    9. Tornado Kick
    10. Demolish
    11. Perfect Balance
    12. Snap Punch
    13. Snap Punch
    14. Demolish
    15. Twin Snakes
    16. Dragon Kick
*Form Shift + Dragon Kick (If the Dragon Kick does not land during Perfect Balance, Form Shift will allow skipping 3 whole GCDs to reapply the Drgn Kick Debuff)

This opener heavily relies on Internal Release. Forbidden Chakra, Elixer Field, Howling Fist, Steel Peak, and Tornado Kick are the most powerful attacks that Monks can use.
While Blood for Blood is active, all oGCD abilities must land for optimal damage.
Touch of Death would not be used, as this is a DPS loss during the opener.

Very Important: Coeurl Form must be ready before using Forbidden Chakra, Elixer Field, Howling Fist and Steel Peak.
This is because once Forbidden Chakra, Elixer Field, Howling Fist and Steel Peak, and Tornado Kick have been used, Demolish/Snap Punch will place you back at 1 stack GL, allowing a 6th action instead of 5 actions to be used while in Perfect Balance.
Depending on the timing of perfect balance, you will be allowed to reapply all MNK debuffs/dots/buffs and add True Strike as the Final blow in Perfect Balance.

I don't parse myself, but if anyone is willing to test this opener for me and post a log of a 1:00 minute DPS parse, that would be awesome

    You're not opening Hummelfaust with

    Demolish > Demolish > Rockbreaker > Rockbreaker > Rockbreaker > Dragon Kick > Twin Snakes > Rockbreaker?
