They've made other changes to the airships to this point, why wouldn't they have potentially changed the way rating are calculated? I'm just trying to argue, it's just that other things have shifted so I don't believe that we can fully trust the old information that we had.

It's true that we can't trust the old data, but ratings are still final sector only. I've been checking - there has been no screenshot posted anywhere and no log from my own guild that contradicts that. Final ratings (the letter grades) are still based only on the last sector, and are always either the letter equivalent of the last sector's exp bonus, or one letter "higher." Abysmal in final sector always equals C or B. Outstanding in the final sector always means SS. And so on.

I get that there are times that they don't put things into patch notes (I've seen it a lot with SoE/DBG with Everquest), though SE seems to be rather comprehensive with their notes. But lacking the data that supports an unannounced (or, for that matter, accepting the possibility that I might have missed or misread an announcement) change I was wondering why people started suddenly paying attention to the airship venture rating.

You make a fair point; I shouldn't have assumed. Apologies. I was just trying say that it seems like our slower ship with high survey and retrieval was having better results than our fast ship with lower survey and retrieval which is outside of voyage ratings to your point. I'll just go back to lurking now

I went for high retrieval instead of speed. Did I do something wrong? Still nothing but logs and branches from 24.

As soon as i unlocked 24 i sent 2 ships there.. and both came back with 1 spoil each. INV / BRO / ODY / VIL slow runs but also got some good 7-8m drops from sector 17 with that set.
Will try different set on other ship as soon as i will unlock those sectors.. till then i must say i'm happy with that one.. slow but nice drops.. ((well sometime they troll me.. ^^ ))

Hi,

Did the general state of Airship have incidence about airship logs ?

Was sending my Airships to Sector 17 (for Materias) but no one give them (I've the requirement...) but sometimes airship give me only 10 cristals !!

I repair my airship only when broken... should i repair before ? or there is no fact about it ?

From what people have found, airships perform just as well with all parts at 1% as they do with all parts at 100%. So, it's most cost efficient to only repair parts when they break. But, since parts of different tiers take damage at different rates, it might be more convenient for you to repair parts before 0% if like, they're at 0%/0%/1%/5% or something.
