What are you doing to prep for 3.3?

If you want to share DO IT! I am always interested to see how far in advance people prep and what other ideas or what I even should be doing to prep. This thread may be a dud but I am a stalker on a small server what can I say

I always love Jade's blog but I am never in anyway THAT prepared but it is fun to look and learn a few things and what takes priorities in teh UBER CRAFTERS minds

    Thanks~

All i do is craft raid food/pots, to be honest, i was late in the game for 2/3 stars, and i am not even gona bother to be early in 3.3. The way SE does crafting atm is total BS, and it only caters for people willing to grind like mad dogs or wealthy crafters. the rest of us are simply gated and resitribed by gear/ specialist and we can't craft what we want to craft.

It's a fair assessment. Craft/gather grind started extremely hardcore in 3.0/3.05, and gradually eased up since then with a few important changes/additions, but is still quite a steep climb.

I think patch 3.3 will iron this out very smoothly. First of all the new best gearset will be suitable for all classes, giving you only one crafter set to collect and meld up.
Second, a new method for obtaining crafting materia will be added (details on that coming in the patch preview live letters).
Third, just my assumption that the old IL 170/180 sets, no longer being the best, will become easier/faster to get to bridge the gap to the new all-class set.
Fourth, all the current IL 220 battle gear will be easier for people to make with this new DOH gear progression and removal of old specialist restrictions.

Probably just stalk the market boards to snipe low priced food ingredients, and then craft more raid foods. I usually sell off on tuesdays, but nearing the release I'd probably skip a week or two and catch all the hype.

    Lots of various things, including:
    • Stocking up on red scrip tokens
    • Filling mailboxes with dragonskin maps
    • Buying stuff I anticipate needing (bought a wad of MC demimateria cheap a couple weeks back)

What's the link to her journal? I'm curious.

We're not mad dogs. We're poor dogs. ;_; It's sick how you can spend like 800k off the MB to make several pieces when you gathered and made like 98% of the items yourself.

Why dragonskin maps? I'm just curious. They sell for half the price of the wyvernskin maps on my server but if there's any special reason for those over the wyvernskin ones, i'd love to know.

Dragonskin maps aren't soloable (at least not for me) Wyvern are soloable and both drop the relic mats so that to me would be the price/demand difference. Usually with every major patch the dragonskin maps drop something useful and really are always useful but take a little more effort.

Stocking Red scrip tokens is a fair idea. Stocking up materia for new melds sounds good too. Outside of that I don't really need much in the realm of food, potions or anything else. I guess with the recipe drop (and the previous falling from specialist) I'll need to stock up on blues scripts and make a bunch of the 3.2 food after 3.3 drops (hopefully with juicy x3 quantities).

Preparing to make a LS to mass report people that try to flip (resell immediately) the new wards. (Really hoping SE makes a statement when implementing the new wards, so people become deterred.)
