What are you doing to prep for 3.3?

How were you planning on acquiring the 3.3 gear? If you were planning on getting it from the Marketboard, then by all means, forego melding your white stuff. If you were planning on making it ... Then get your gear melded for 3 star stats at a minimum. I"m not too sure how you can reach 850 craft 820 control and eat CP food using just the white gear though.

I met someone once who had a white set (maybe green accessories) and was able to reach it with seafood stew, but I don't think they had a single CP materia melded anywhere and it was probably just barely.

The way SE does crafting atm is total BS, and it only caters for people willing to grind like mad dogs or wealthy crafters.

We're not mad dogs. We're poor dogs. ;_; It's sick how you can spend like 800k off the MB to make several pieces when you gathered and made like 98% of the items yourself.

Filling mailboxes with dragonskin maps

Why dragonskin maps? I'm just curious. They sell for half the price of the wyvernskin maps on my server but if there's any special reason for those over the wyvernskin ones, i'd love to know.

Dragonskin maps aren't soloable (at least not for me) Wyvern are soloable and both drop the relic mats so that to me would be the price/demand difference. Usually with every major patch the dragonskin maps drop something useful and really are always useful but take a little more effort.

I doubt it will just be dragonskin maps, and I'll have wyvern/acheyskin maps on my retainers along with dragonskin. I'm also saving up unhidden maps once again, so I can have a repeat of that disappointment of doing 30+ for nothing worthwhile after the last time they said they were updating their drops (3.1?)

There will also potentially be something relic related in there and new glamour stuff.

Considering the recipes that could be added, specifically new rolls, I'm working on leveling up all my crafters. Focusing mainly on alchemist but a lot of the stuff that alchemist needs for dailies, scrips, and leves rely on other jobs, which i'm also guessing is the case for other crafters.

Grad-school concluded yesterday, Jade is busy preparing for 3.3! I have 161 Red Crafting Tokens and 41 Red Gathering Tokens. I am in the process of making a fleet of "Treasure Hunting" Airships and I've been stockpiling my Type IV Materia... I'll post a screenshot of my Materia reserves on my blog, got almost a stack of Mastercraft Demateria. Caping Blue scrips too, was short during 3.2. Here is my idea for next tier:

Red Scrips cap will be lifted
New Tier of Scrips that need 2* Collectibles ( Those ilv 180 DoW / DoM gear will be needed )
Favor Mats will increase in yield / removed for 2* mats / required for 3* DoH / DoL gear
This way players will need all tiers of mats for end-game materials. Blue Collectibles -> Red Collectibles -> "Yellow" Mats for new 3* Crafting / Gathering gear. We'll probably need a new mat from the Mog Beast Tribes that may be crafting based. I still have 5 stacks of Ixal Oakknots haha

I have a feeling we're going to be thrown a curve ball in 3.3,maybe even going back to "99 HQ xxx" days. I'm excited. I'm not going to upgrade any of my gear until I know what is happening because if DoH/DoL get all-in-one gear sets I'll be so happy!

YAS the queen returns, since Caimie has stopped playing (I miss her so) I need someone to show me the full nerd out that we as crafters can do...or I need someone new to stalk....whatever...not an important distiction at all >.> ....I do also love when Rath, Roth, or Kat posts anything but your blogs are always super helpful. Glad you are getting back into it
