Well most classes have longer CDs on their oGCD abilities. That's probably why he feels it the most with DRK, since we do use Dark Arts as often as mana allows us to.

What I personally don't get is why he doesn't macro Dark Arts onto the def cooldowns, since that's essentially what he was asking for initially.
Dark Mind w/o DA is so weak that you'd never use it anyway, so no big loss taking it off your bars and replacing it with a macro'd version.

But that's essentially our bread and butter during the class. The idea is simply to use that oGCD in order to empower other skills, or, if you don't have the mana, you still can use the defensive cooldowns, they just won't pack that extra oomph. It's the main mana spender, right?

And yeah, his solution for that would be something the game already offers, but check a few posts back where he basically states he wants to be lazy. Then you have his views in a nutshell.

Haha, agreed, Unleash is a mana spender, but still not or highest mana spender; Dark Arts still holds that title.

I also rotate Unleash and DAAD to mix it up, depending on how many folks are hitting me. AD hits harder, and the heals help the healer + add extra threat. (Granted, you only use AD depending on mana + rotation situation.)

I find AoE tanking to be very fun to do as Dark Knight because you 'do' have access to two AoEs and can use it depending on the situation.
