Not counting Latency, some times that can screw up, and Dark Knight is the ONLY class in the game that has abilities that require SO much OCGDs to make GCDs any good.

Imagine if every other tank class had to use an ability right before using a defensive ability? That can really ruin your day. You see the monster casting a giant spell? DA+D--..... Oh.. because your ability is delayed UNLIKE EVERYONE ELSES you missed because you had to wait 0.5-0.8 seconds to cast just because its CLUNKY.

There is no excuse, its a badly designed mechanic and nobody would want to use such long CDs without Dark Arts anyways. JUST add a mana cost and make it 30% base.

I realize this can be made up with experience, but honestly why should it be that way? No other game I have played MMO wise has had such huge delays in OGCDs. Everquest 2 has a 0.2 delay for every combat art, and its all instant with almost 5 times more abilities its so easy to macro because macros automatically put delays between the spells for you because that is just well designed.

The issue is, because your "queing" these moves and also DPSing, unlike other classes who have it built in you can que your delay EVEN more just by playing normally.


I don't know what other abilities in Final Fantasy have to have a "ability" to use an ability to make it a ton better besides combos. However if Dark Arts wasn't tied to a defensive abilities...

The sadness is, they know how the system works way better then the rest of us and they chose such a poorly designed and stupid mechanic for the class when there is SO MUCH MORE they could of added, it is LAZY. The Dark Knight can be a lot more then this, and they have designed a lot of fun mechanics for classes.


I don't want to turn Dark Knight into a warrior, I want this cancer removed and cut out and something good to replace it. Like someone suggested a bit ago a terror mechanic.

I told you why I explained the word 'funner wasn't good': it makes you look silly. Simple as that. It was a comment about the word so you can fix your problem. Obviously, you took it as a slight and had to sling some 'savvy' insult back and decided to go with the 'you got to 60 but understand NOTHING.' Sure. Insult me if you want.

Congrats. Welcome to learning about a GCD of 0.5. I didn't think I would have to talk about the GCD but here we are. And so what, every class has the 0.5 GCD. Grats. They also have oGCD attacks too! Shocking! Every. Single. Class. Has. To. Deal. With. Latency. And. GCD. Stop using it as your defence.

And it's not the class or the game's fault you're absolutely terrible at using a skill to empower your defensive cooldowns at the right time. That's on you, buddy. You don't have the ability to have enough of your resource to empower your skill. So suffer the consenqences of having a lower skill level than some of us. And yes, it should be made up with experience because time and time again S-E has stated that Dark Knight is MEANT To be an advanced tanking class, which means people with skill will excel at it whereas people who don't bother understanding the class will hate it. Wanna take a gander as to what side you're on? Go on, I'll wait till you realize it.

Your argument is so flawed because you think the GCD only affects DRK. It doesn't. So don't even bring it up. There's no point. DA is off the damn GCD which means it's not even an excuse. It comes back to you hating the fact you have to press a damn button to activate a 'heightened' power as it fits with the lore of the Dark Knight in this game. Remember Lore? That story that binds us to our character and makes us who we are and what the nature of the role is? The very basis of one of the most famous MMORPGs is bringing back to their classes with their next expansion? Yeah. That. We gather darkness and energy to empower our strikes and our movement. Go back and look at the Dark Knight story and understand that it fits the lore.

What the hell do you think offensive cooldowns are? The ones that you activate and increase your percentage? They are EXACTLY those kinds of 'abilities' that increase the power. Furthermore, they wanted to make something unique with this class. They did by adding this function and making it different from other classes. I don't want a Paladin. I don't want a Warrior. If I wanted either or, I'd play the damn class.

What you call a 'cancer' is your absolute laziness of utilizing the class properly and wanting it changed to suit your lazy needs. You already admitted in this thread that it is sheer, pure laziness that you want this changed because you can't be arsed to push a damn button.

At this point, I'm fed up with you. You bring absolutely no good arguments, you try to break a class that doesn't need to be broken and you believe you are so in the right that you are absolutely blinded by the fact that many people are telling you that the mechanics of the class are fine but some of the things they'd like to change, such as utility, which even I have conceded we don't bring that much.

So no, you still have no idea what you're talking about, and until you prove that you have any notion of how a Dark Knight is played by even remotely showing you have the class to 60 and understand ALL of our mechanics, I'm done with you, just like so many others are.

A damned shame you can't honestly see how blinded by your hatred for a class makes you disliked. Enjoy your gaming. I'm done.
