I'm also pretty certain that you need 1000 Allied seals per item, and the Centurio don't actually work towards any of the unidentified items. This means that it's probably a good idea to do ARR Hunts + their dailies & weeklies if you want to stay productive. The point is that if you have a legitimate "Hunt" going on, then you can normally knock out 12 or so marks every hour, and S ranks will give a ton of seals & tomes.
You're right, it is 1000 allied only. I guess I will give it a try but I seldom see hunts in the PF.
