A minor suggestion (Crystal Tower weekly)

Currently the rewards are:

Aether Oil
Allagan Catalyst
Choose from: 3 Ironworks upgrade items

Which dumps 3 items in your inventory, one or more of which players may not have a use for.

Would this be better?:

Allagan Catalyst
Choose from: Aether Oil, 3 Ironworks upgrade items

2 items in the inventory, with only just the catalyst being possibly useless.

While you may not have a need for the Ironworks upgrade items, there are plenty of people out there that do not have everything at 50+ and could use those upgrades to get an i130 weapon for alternate jobs they are leveling. The current method allows them to not spend poetics on the upgrade items allowing them to work on obtaining phase 3 relic items while simultaneously collecting aether oils for phase 4.

I probably should have emphasized "possibly". Not everyone can craft or otherwise has the crafting level to make the recipes that require it.

And Cnidarian, someone actually mentioned that in a Syrcus Tower run and I didn't think much of it until you brought it up. That makes sense, then. I figured I'd put this out there since I'm in the odd position to want the oil, but not really have anything to use the upgrade mats on.

EDIT: It's not a dealbreaker for me either way, I was just thinking of how my inventory at the time was bloated when I turned in the quest and I nearly panicked when I saw the red message come up.

Don't really understand. If your inventory was full it would not have let you complete the quest.
I get the items then just discard all but the oil as they are no use to me, which takes roughly three seconds. Why does this need changing?

Sadly, that is true. Wonder why we keep getting "ARE YOU SURE?" boxes whenever we try to buy items that can't be used on our current class? This is why.
