Are you willing to consider that your feelings on this issue may be confirmation bias? I have done nearly two thousand instances across several characters on various jobs and roles and have not noticed one particular job doing better or worse in general.
Lol I wouldn't consider this a bias, and I'm not saying at all that at any given point any DPS can suck. What I'm getting at is that at this point, if you can't DPS as a bard, even if it's just as best as you can, then there is a problem. I dread bards at first because like i said, so far only 1 has actually shined, of the many I've grouped with. So everytime I see a bard, i assume the worst but hope the for best.
Problem for me is, whenever I see a bard I hold them to a higher standard than normal, since it's my job and it's what I play.Lol I wouldn't consider this a bias, and I'm not saying at all that at any given point any DPS can suck. For that particular standard it's rare to get a bard that good but...................normally? Honestly most bards I see are fine. I've only ran into a few really really bad ones.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.
Glamour is TRUE ENDGAME
I must have the worst luck with BRD's then, because like i've said before, I've only played with 1 really good one, the others were either decent or for the most part, just horrible. IDK what the deal is. I'm hoping tho now that I'm 60 and running 60 dungeons the standards will increase.Problem for me is, whenever I see a bard I hold them to a higher standard than normal, since it's my job and it's what I play.

What are you criterias in determining if they're "Good", "Decent", or "Bad"? Seeing that you don't own one.I must have the worst luck with BRD's then, because like i've said before, I've only played with 1 really good one, the others were either decent or for the most part, just horrible. I used to hate seeing BRDs too until I started playing BRD and imo you have to actually be some kind of good to play ranged cause their dps is lower due to the support factor but also this is just me but I don't really like the up time down time thing, like after my opening....I'm kind of a sitting duck so God forbid I do my opening and adds pop up after XDI must have the worst luck with BRD's then, because like i've said before, I've only played with 1 really good one, the others were either decent or for the most part, just horrible. If the bard can break the prison nidhogg puts me in, he is decent lol, that's all i ask is that people know their job enough to perform mechanics. And that prison isn't hard to break, my ninja can break it without even trying very hard. I'm not an elitist that's for sure, so if you want to play perfect, good on you, but I just expect people to be able to do the mechanics because that is a requirement for any dungeon, after that there is nothing I look too. And I understand ninja is a lot more burst than BRD, but I have seen bards that can break that prison, so you can't tell me it isn't doable.
Apparently, most people doesn't care about low-level dungeon mechanics anymore. The fact that the dungeon is doable with or without a bard doesn't necessarily mean that those bards who didn't break YOU out of Nidhogg's prison were bad. smhIf the bard can break the prison nidhogg puts me in, he is decent lol, that's all i ask is that people know their job enough to perform mechanics. If that's your only criteria, I'd say you haven't seen enough Bards, or better yet experience the class yourself first.
