Bard in the party... thoughts?

This was the direct opposite during the 3.0-3.1 days when MCH had both their 210 options having SS (which scales extremely poorly), nor is skill speed a dead stat for BRD by any means (relatively stronger than DET assuming TP isn't an issue). BRD has so much more to gain from their secondary stats than MCH can ever hope to, especially crit and it's interaction with bloodletter.

Lets face it bad DPS is bad DPS. Doesn't matter what job. I've had more melee ignore the prison than I can count. So do I call all of them bad because of it? No.

And well the lore weapon for bards is meh. Though bards can at least benefit from skillspeed a bit better(having ~600 is minimal), det is just sad this patch cycle though. But we do have a relic that's just fine.

I wasn't commenting on the prison, but yes. There's no co-relation to BRDs and failure to mechanics, only bad players and failures to mechanics.

BRD benefits so much more from skill speed than MCH does, since it affects the CD of empyreal arrow, two DoTs, and in general they deal more damage from their personal GCDs. MCH's turret doesn't scale off skill speed, rapid fire devalues skill speed, and they only have one DoT.

In the grand context of things, BRD is nowhere near as bad as people would like to make it out to be. Id argue their personal dps is still better than that on a MCH especially as time passes (due to better scaling off secondary stats), and the hypercharge buff only really evens out the playing field if you're looking at a 2 melee/1 caster comp .

I'm inviting you to take a look at FFLogs, Bards are falling behind every other DPS at the moment, but like we said, they need a buff but nothing crazy either, they just need to catch on that 100-200 DPS they are missing on MCH at the moment.

Lol, nobody is insulting, if you don't do mechanics you're lazy, that's plain and simple, especially ones that kill people. If you really think that is insulting, then maybe someone should try not being lazy and intentionally getting someone killed. Not once have i seen a bard break that prison, I've seen many try, but not one that has broken it. Granted yes, i have never once said that a blm or nin or any other class will never be lazy, but for some reason it's always bards, the common denominator is bards, sorry to be bearer of bad news, i never said it was a crappy class, nor did i say i would never want one in the party, but if you're too lazy or can't do mechanics, then yeah I'd rather get a real dps that can help keep people alive. And again i say, don't like it? Then stop doing it. It's not insulting if someone calls me heavy or fat or chubby, because guess what, I AM. If I didn't like it, I'd change it, so sorry for calling it how i see it, if you're dumb, I'm gonna call ya dumb, who knows maybe it's the wake up call you need. But I would love to see a bard do that nidhogg fight as a solo dps, I promise you it ain't happening.

Can you please read your comments before sending them? I think you could also benefit from reading your pass comments, you've called people stupid and dumb like 3-4 times in your last 2 comments, I have no idea if you have some self esteem issues about your own intelligence and you need to feel superior in any way, but these forums are not here for that.
If you keep on trying to insult people to try proving your point which still is pretty invalid by me, I will have to report you, let's hope it doesn't go that far.

as a Bard main since 2.x, those posts were pretty insulting, especially coming from someone who hasn't done anything significant in the game and has only 01 job to 60. i would assume that you have no idea what you are talking about.

Since 2.x? You mean what? 2.5? Congratulations you play for a year and you're an expert. I played in 1.0 and purchased a new account for 2.0. I took a break before HW, just came back about a month ago. Time has nothing to do with it. The posts aren't insulting, like i said I call it as I see it. It's not an insult to tell the truth. I'll leave this thread if telling the truth is super insulting. And to Judge_Xero not saying that they can't at all. I'm saying the bards I've played with can't because they are lazy. A lot of Bards are in that lazy mindset, read above. And the nidhogg prison is just an example. It's not the only time I've seen bards do it crappily. But it was a good example. Sorry if you don't like it, I don't make you play bard, you chose to be a bard, and maybe some good bards should be schooling the bad bards, so they aren't making all bards look bad. It's to the point that I cringe because I do get a bard in the party. Have I ever said they suck, period? Nope, just calling out the lazy ones.

Bard can't break the Nidhog prison?

Barrage -> Empyreal Arrow -> Misery's End > Done. Literally the fastest class at breaking someone out in just over a single GCD.

@Dubah, I get what you are saying about bad players. Like on Calcabrina in the AntiTower I can kill the adds faster as SCH than most DPS during Dollhouse.

I just dont agree with the mindset that Players are bad so therefore BRD is bad, since it falls on any class. Personally I cringe every time I see a NIN in the party, as they are the most common ones I see in DF with terrible DPS. Actually the last time I was in The Aery I was with a NIN who stood in every AOE and couldn't break the jail, so I just let them die so I could DPS as SCH without worrying about them, otherwise we'd never have beat Nidhogg.

As a bard main, we lacking skillspeed? I've allways found more skillspeed only makes our tp run out faster.
