What the fuck is wrong with all of you?

We have seen weird ass weapons ALL OUR LIVES IN FINAL FANTASY GAMES.

Now all of a sudden we KILL, yes we are KILLING A PRIMAL not challenging it for its power or bs...and you guys go stupid about having a weapon built with its essence and power?

What the fuck is wrong with all of you?

Go play age of empires if you want realism... IM extremely fucking tired of this stupid opinion...yes you are entitled to your opinion but i find it retarded.

Just an ounce of constructive criticism, that's all.

Now, imagine if these weapons glowed:

Those weapons aren't hewn from the remains of Ifrit though. Besides Verethragna looks very similar to Ifrit's claws (forget the actual pugilist weapon name).

If they were traditional looking, people would've been bouncing off the walls about copy paste weapons + glow thrown in. I'd think weapons made from the bone and keratin of something such as Ifrit would look somewhere outside the norm of weapons made from the usual materials.

That being said, people complained alot once the Empryean weapons were shown. Especially Almace (which I still think looks cool and seems like something Cecil from FFIV would use) Twashtar, and Farsha.

I think all the claims challenging the realism aspect concerning these weapons are invalid for a few reasons:

First of all, the game is fantasy (Yes I've seen hundreds of people say this and yes I've heard all the arguments for and against) and frankly, in a world with flying dragons, flaming ogres and zombies, who's to say the people employed to combat these creatures don't have a little creativity with their weapon designs.

Secondly, I know this in some ways contradicts the first statement, but weapons that are taken (or ripped and made) from the corpse of a giant-ass flaming otherworldly creature should contain some kind of magical power (the glowing), as well as be the same shape of the monster that it came from since they would obviously just be parts of him being used to create weapons once he's been killed. For this reason, I believe that the weapons are in fact highly realistic.. Who's going to believe that ifrit comes from his other dimension with a bag full of nicely crafted swords and bows, and just hands them to you for winning, come on now.

The entire argument is ridiculous, because people don't think things through.. The game is NOT becoming more "cartoony" and is NOT becoming anything like another game since a few weapons with new designs have been added. SE has always been one to stick to very detailed storylines and equipment (Need I remind people of the design and strength analogy that Yoshi-P posted a few weeks back.. It generally explains everything).

In my opinion the weapons symbolise the sheer power and difficulty of killing something as strong as a primal, I think their designs are very well done, and deserve to be amongst the current equipment.

I bet some of the people complaining about these weapons now will be the same people complaining that they can't get them when the fight is too hard next week.

Not signing this. The idea of themed weapons is great within Eorzea. More variety, and no gun to my head saying I have to use them.

It's too bad unfortunate details like this are keeping 1.19 from becoming the greatest patch ever in the history of SE MMO's.

Nothing is wrong with the idea of themed weapons, as long as they remain consistent with the rest of the game and are faithful to the theme they originate from.

Sadly, for Ifrit weapons it is only true for the latter. First we had the world of Eorzea, but now the Tower of Eternity is bleeding through the spacetime.

It's a single set of weapons born from the Lord of the Inferno, I would expect no less from them. I foresee this trend continuing with the Primal fights but not outside of it. I mean look, Eorzean Adventurers have their own gear style, the Garlean Empire has its own gear style and now the Primals have their own dropped gear style. Just because a set of weapons dropped from the Lord of the Inferno bear resemblance to him and glow a little bit doesn't mean that every single weapon from now on will be like that.

I'm going to guess that all Primal fights will have over the top designs for their weapons. All weapons created by the adventurers have so far and likely will stick to a certain design style and the same goes for anything from the Garlean Empire. The game can have multiple design styles honestly based on different regions, cultures or enemy types.

So as long as gear is consistantly boring and drab (or horribly colored) you're ok with it?

Of course, nothing good or appealing can come out of the design direction they had going up until now, which is the same direction shared by their previous multiplayer online game, which also had nothing but boring, drab and horribly colored gear and nothing else. Fantastic deduction skills all around.

There is simply no way for any cloth or piece of metal to be visually appealing if its not twice the size of its real life counterpart and doesn't have million objects sticking out of it.
