I mean not to be harsh, but a healer adjustment does not need to be made with a Black Mage's convenience in mind.

The point I was making was that if you have to meld Piety to do your optimum rotation, it's not the end of the world. It's not 'absolutely absurd' as you put it, considering some jobs (such as SCH) have to meld accuracy rather than their favoured Crit. Also, saying to an off healer that they don't need to meld accuracy cause they only need to heal discredits you completely. We're not talking about dungeons here, the party bonus is mainly applicable to end game raids in which a healer always contributes to DPS.

Another post with no context behind it. I also don't see the reason to get personal, all I pointed out was that a change to healers does not need to be made taking into consideration the other roles. AND if that change meant that BLMs had to meld some piety, that's not 'absolutely absurd' because some jobs simply have to meld certain stats to be optimum.

As a SCH myself, there are times in raids (a lot in A5S) where I don't even need to help with the healing, so I DPS. If I don't meld accuracy, I miss and that's a huge personal DPS loss. So for me to be optimum I must meld accuracy. I don't have the wonders of choice that you currently have, so I just deal with it, and if that changes in the future then you will have to deal with it. It's a simple concept.

And yes, melding has nothing to do with the piety bonus, but you mentioned BLMs would have to meld to compensate for losing it, that's why I mentioned it so it wasn't random. And for the record, I did say earlier that I hope that doesn't happen, BUT if it did we all still have options to compensate for it.
