Do people here really think the Devs would make it so that only certain groups could get the most desired drops?

We don't know. Thats why we are asking for clarity. Just like in materia crafting, a specific combination of materia and catalyst yields the best reward; a comparable requirement may be in place for party GC's being represented, to yield the best reward.

If it doesn't, why would they even bring the topic up?
