So, instead of people fighting about STR, why are they fighting about VIT?

I know this. But now I have a question: What's the attack power conversion for VIT and STR? Is it 1:1 or...?

1 STR = .45 AP
1 VIT = .45 AP

VIT also gives HP and Fending accessories have higher main stat than Slaying ones. The only argument for Slaying accessories now is secondary stats, in which case you could end up ahead on eAP but cost yourself a large amount of health for small returns. That's not even accounting for potential lost healer GCDs, which will probably be more valuable than your own gains.

So, yeah, Slaying is useless. STR isn't, though - you can meld STR materia onto Fending accessories as it's still stronger than Det/Crit/SkS.
