Next Void Ark zone

I suppose this depends on where Diabolos took Scathach's coffin. He went through a void gate but whether he actually fled to the void or merely used it as a means to get to somewhere else in Eorzea was left ambiguous. If we were to end up chasing them into the void we'd run the risk of things being a little too similar to the Crystal Tower saga. I think ultimately we will have to end up at the Yafaem Saltmoor but how things lead us that way I honestly couldn't guess.

Somehow I don't think we would ever be able to go into the voidsent realm, I mean everyone tends to have a panic attack whenever even a low tier voidsent mistakenly crosses to Eorzea... Besides VA we never really see many differing kinds (ignoring the very dumb theory people keep telling me of how auri are part voidsent) so if SE wanted to be disingenuous and say oh we cross over but somehow just encounter moderately low level voidsent what luck! I don't think it would happen and it kind of seems like bad writing.

Didn't the devs confirm that the Au Ra actually are indeed part voidsent? The horns are meant to emulate the succubus look. Originally people thought they were part dragonkin but this was categorically shot down, with the voidsent connection implied instead.

The World of Darkness is indeed the void as well, with the Cloud of Darkness being one of the rulers, and Scathach apparently being another.

From the devs themselves, the Void Ark raids (better known as the "Shadow of Mhach" series) is not going to have any shout-outs to previous games, at least in its settings, so as to avoid the "[X] expansion is going to have [Y] throwback raid" that could easily develop.

Common fan hypothesis is that we're going to go to the Floating City of Nym and/or the Yafeem (sp?) Saltmoor, but beyond that nobody knows.

I wanna say phase 2 could be some sort of limbo in between the normal world and the place there D took the coffin.
Our tech isn't good enough to get us directly there, but we could open the door on our end and walk the rest of the way

Bummed about it not having any throwbacks to old FF games. I absolutely loved CT and all the primals referencing past FF games. I mean if you're going to throw Warring Triad and Dragonneck Coliseum and Goldsaucer...what's wrong with having Castle Pandaemonium? FFXIV..no...the entire FF series revolves around fan service. The 2yr Veteran Reward was Firion's costume which is a huge shoutout to FF2, and the entire HW expansion is a huge shoutout to FF4 (Dark Knight/Dragoons), FF6 (Imperials, Warring Triad, Floating Continent), and FFT (super corrupt church and a cadre of Temple Knights consorting with evil forces and transform into deities)

Not at all. They said they were going to go with a dragon motif at first, but then changed to a voidsent motif later. Their look is themed on voidsent, but no statement has been made on them actually being related to them, except by aesthetics.

Cloud of Darkness is probably a second tier voidsent, likely one of the middle nobles. Scathach, though, they call a Voidsent Queen (like Lilith is mentioned to be in the BLM relic storyline), so she might actually be a top tier voidsent.

Nope. The Cloud of Darkness card states she's "one of the undisputed rulers of the void" and she "occupies the highest rung of the hierarchy of twelve". Scathach also almost certainly is there as well, and maybe even Diabolos (though he may be in the second).

Ah! Thank you. I've yet to get my hands on her card, so I was missing that helpful bit of lore.

I was hoping by now, we'd have some new hint to the next raid hiding in the environment, the same way the Void Ark had been mysteriously drifting into and out of view, prior to being revealed as our 24-member raid location. Without that, and with the ambiguity of the Void Ark's concluding cutscene, I'm fiercely curious where the next chapter will play out.

The castle-like structure in the concept art and the knowledge that Mhach was located in Yafaem are the only straws left to grasp. Pandemonium would seem likely, though Yoshi-P claims that these raids are meant to be original to FFXIV, in contrast to the prior Crystal Tower series. For that reason, my hopes of a Phantom Train raid seem equally unlikely. A trudge through the Yafaem Saltmoor feels appropriately grim, though, and a chance to see more of the Floating City of Nym would be welcome.
