I think someone said the same about the Coils. Until we got Azys'laI know it's just my opinion... And I'm not saying it doesn't look amazing... I explicitly stated that I simply cannot say how amazing it looks enough...
It's an amazing looking area wasted on a substandard piece of content... That's my opinion... Don't let it ruin your enjoyment of the area, I'm simply letting SE know that this is the kind of zone I want to come back to outside the context of a raid... One of my long standing suggestions for this game is for dungeons and raids to unlock their respective areas as open world areas; You finish Lost City, now you get to explore it as an open world area, for example. Then whenever I see these new pieces of content, I can go "That's an amazing looking zone" and leave it at that, rather than ending the thought with "but I'll be stuck following a linear path through it..."
xD

Kinda gives me Stargate vibes. And is anyone besides me desperately hoping that the Mhachi don't have anything to do with the Allagans? Some of the pictures from the Live Letter makes the new raid appear like something the Allagans would've made if they were going through a macabre phase.

Would not surprise me if the Mhach were founded by survivors of some Allagans. For one thing, the late Allagan period dealt with the Void and its residence.
From what I see the Mhach looked rather technologically advanced compared to Amdapor and Nym.

I would be very hard to said that Mhachi had allagan survivors, specially beacuse the time between allagans and mhach was like 3 thousand years? I think?
Also based on all the info we have gather so far, we can mostly assume that the population on mach on its mayority were lalafels, and on the allagans were hyurs.
Saing that I would agreed that thr Mhach found some information about the allagans, about their tecnology and voidsents, specialy voidsents.

There was an entire Astral Era between the fall of the Allag and the Mhach. While the Mhach, and for that matter almost everyone in Eorzea, decend from the Allag since they ruled all of Eorzea for at least several hundred years, the Mhach would have come from a civilisation that grew from the ruins of Allag.
I suspect your right about the third raid. Several of the names we have seen reference Mytholical figures, most notably Scáthach which make me think we might also see a connection to Ferdiad who along with Cúchulainn was one of Scáthach students.Oh that does makes sense, If it really is, it would be a shame to reduce an entire region to just one raid instance...
So I guess SoM's second raid will then be us raiding the old Mhach palace and the third installment be us fighting Diablos and the queen in the void.
I'm starting to see a pattern coming to birth here given how CT ended in the realm of darkness which is part of the void as well.

Interestingly, apart from being a legendary female Warrior, she lived in a place called Dún Scáith which literally translates into Fortress of Shadows, a rather voidsenty sounding location. Third raid location my bet.

So this rises my two following questions,
1.- Is Mhach a play on the suffix Machy/Machi/Machy that denots war/battles, it fits if you realize all the voidsends regaining power as the Shadows of "War" from the War of the Magi.
and as said here:
2.-How Cuchulainn works with the rest of the Espers/Scions because they already used the name? (Tho the one in VA has a strong resemblance to the one of the zodiac). I might be thinking too much bout this point, we already saw a few other names around Eorzea but by no means they are in the same _social circle_

That just reminded me of level 70+ mobs right outside of cities back in 1.0...
But regardless, how would we be able to tell where weaker Voidsent reside? I guess if anyone might've known it would be the Mhach, which might be our excuse in going to their city I suppose
You'll have plenty of time to explore while the other 23 people are busy failing the simplest of mechanics.
Well damn, Yafaem Saltmoors it is...
I'm actually kind of disappointed... This looks amazing, yet it's just the next easy raid? This looks like it could be something on the level of Sky or Sea, yet it's just going to be another lame instance... I mean Diadem was their attempt at a Sky/Sea style area, and that completely sucked, so dodged a bullet there... But damn...
Can we work on converting this into an actual zone following the raid? I really want to explore this area in detail... Sucks we're likely going to be railroaded to a set path for the raid...
Except I wont, because the only part of the area I'll be able to explore is the linear path set out for the raid... Why do I have to keep repeating myself? What's hard to understand here?
Yasuhiro even pretty much perfectly illustrated my point, highlighting what is likely the only part of the screenshot we'll get to walk around in...

And even if there is more to it (kinda like that big open area with the shallow water in Brayflox Longstop) people will figure out the shortest and most efficient route to take to make their runs take less time. I wouldn't mind areas like Cassiopeia Hollow and Shposhae from 1.0. I recall getting some fancy looking eye patch from Shposhae when I was exploring it out of curiosity back then. Maybe those "treasure map dungeons" or whatever that were teased in the live letter will be something similar?Except I wont, because the only part of the area I'll be able to explore is the linear path set out for the raid... Why do I have to keep repeating myself? What's hard to understand here?
