I'd rather wait 15 minutes to guarantee similar healer quality, than 5 to have a quarter of my games be a complete mismatch in the pivotal role. Either you play WHM/AST and are good at it (in which case you don't get to see the impact a bad healer has), or you don't really realize how many games are instantly won or lost by one team because of healers outside their skill level.

Pvp community isn't exactly welcoming to new players as it is. Went in a run yesterday, rest of team almost full pvp gear, they decided to go mental at me for 1) not knowing what i was doing yet and 2) not having gear yet.

On topic: why not just welcome brand new players, accept they could do with a little bit of guidance and not be a douche because they haven't gotten the experience yet?

Well it's 20mins now in the "training" queue so I wanted to chime in here. First if it bugs you this much you can make a PF party for ranked matches. Also 8v8 is a poor substitute for a 4v4, they play completely different. Really SE should have made a ranked 4v4 / 8v8 and training 4v4 / 8v8.

That doesn't really matter... I didn't practice 4v4 at all... I knew what I was doing in it because I'd played PvP in this game before... 8v8 is far more similar to 4v4 than something like Seize or Secure... All SE needs to do is push for 8v8 to be the norm, rather than 4v4...

If the current situation isn't addressed come the first season, it is going to be an utter disaster... People who do not know what they're doing have no place in ranked... Actively losing rating because someone decided to jump right into the deep end is nothing short of infuriating...

I'm not one to moan at people in game, I'm simply stating here (where developers will (hopefully) take feedback), that people who (usually by their own admission) do not know what they are doing really shouldn't be participating in the competitive scene...

Do I care about the pre-season queues? No, I play Dark Knight, the Feast is dead to me pending those promised 3.25 adjustments... I care about the season queues, and if they're going to be anything remotely like what I've seen from the solo queue prior to 3.22 (frequently being paired up with people who don't even know about skills like Purify...), then it's the equivalent of joining the Olympic swimming team, only to turn up for the competition to find a bunch of toddlers drowning in the pool... I'd like to aim for Gold (or Diamond), but it's kind of hard with all these infants dragging my rating down... Pre-season is here to highlight issues to iron out for the coming season, and amateurs preventing any serious progression beyond Bronze is a pretty serious issue, IMO...

I jumped into Feast off Seal Rock and had absolutely no trouble... 8v8 is worlds closer to 4v4 than something like Frontlines...

+1 on this; it's not on the playerbase. Currently we either q solo or we get a light party together and q up. Those that cannot get 3 friends to q should not be excluded from playing 4v4 due to "ruining" other's ladder climb.

If the end goal is to have a competitive e-sport( /snicker) there has to be a rating system overhaul that benefits both sides(read: unranked 4v4 is not a fix, that'll just split the Q's) to allow new and not as experienced players to fight side by side with pvp vets.
