Will do.
On another note, I have some bad news... seems im cursed finding a raid group that doesnt come to any issues... Our MT just got perma banned for using a macro that is not built in game? not exactly sure of the details but i believe he used a mouse key to input (guessing he has mmo mouse) but in any case I don't know when we will find a replacement. Soooo I don't know how much I can contribute in the raiding scene. If anyone wants to posts some stuff I will gladly put them up in the first post.
Hey everyone, has anyone been able to beat a8s dummy without lore weapon? I'm barely beating a7s SSS with Seph weapons with good crit rates. I'm not fully melded but i dont know if it will make big enough difference to push me up to 1790~1800+ dps. Most members in my static are beating a7s or even A8s with ease. I don't know if I should go for a higher SKs build or am I just doing bad with my rotation. Currently I'm using purification instead of TFC, it worked pretty well but im still relying on good crits to beat a7s at exact 0:00.
i220 crafted + sephirot weapon + one prototype midan ring unmelded should be around 1623 (I'm still modeling this at average i.e. 4m, 3m should have different numbers but to get that I'd have to tweak a few things and I'd rather prioritize remodeling my model so such things are trivial); no food, no party. With non-exorbitant melds in the guaranteed slots only (16 crit IV, 3 det IV), about 1658.
So while melding at least the guaranteed slots is pretty important and you should do it (that's >1% improvement, pretty significant... well, assuming you're not putting VIT in the accessories), it isn't going to take you that high.

Sunny, I know you were experimenting with stat weights but from what I saw last it looks like the general placement of WD > Str > Crit > Det > SS with a rough suggested cap of 660 for SS and whatever the current cap is for Acc? Am I missing something? Should I still go for as much Crit as I can find with the materia slots and Det when crit is capped already or what? My gut tells me yes but I'm not sure how to build up gear still so I've been defaulting to the usual wisdom.
Also thanks for your calculations.
I don't know what's going to be the actual BiS, but the stat system is simple enough that melding for common sense is going to be good enough: Critical unless you get more value from Determination (it always depends on the caps), Accuracy if there is an uncomfortable jump between sets you could be equipping. In the end, we can only accept that we're going to have this much skill speed at i240, and even if you can pentameld Eikon gear and even if that is theoretically better, I try to cater to players of average-size pockets. Like, you will eventually get your hands on the grade V materia if you play until 3.4 and you really want it; there's Void Ark weekly for now, you can spiritbond Sky Pirate gear in VA/dungeons, Diadem spoils may be an option for you, and probably more sources coming later. IV should be the budget option, quite reasonable while you grab Vs.Sunny, I know you were experimenting with stat weights but from what I saw last it looks like the general placement of WD > Str > Crit > Det > SS with a rough suggested cap of 660 for SS and whatever the current cap is for Acc? I don't talk about too much about speed caps because I already do enough theorycrafting in a vacuum as it is. We live in a world where people make mistakes, Fey Wind / Arrow is helpful, changing gearsets for accuracy between bosses isn't practical if it involves remelding, bosses jump away, latency is a thing, BiS is often slightly obsolete within 3 months and definitely within 6 months, etc.
And yeah we don't really know the accuracy caps for Midas yet. I've considered trying to find some simpler pattern behind it, but no dice so far.

Im still unsure about bis. I dont like having sub 400 det either. :/
Dang. Well, fair enough. I have some pieces of the Eikon set. Figured it was pretty good but wasn't sure how competitive it was. Still, thank you for the insights. I don't know if I want to overmeld and see a grade V explode in my hands (that would possibly make me feel emotional pain at this point) so I've been pentamelding the pieces but with grade IV's since damn. Expensive!if you can pentameld Eikon gear and even if that is theoretically better, I try to cater to players of average-size pockets. I've found TP issues to be manageable at 785 SS. That said, here is the Gear Set I will be using 723 Acc, 934 Crit, 599 Det, 690 SS After experiencing A5s and A6s, I do not think worrying about SS as long as its under 800 should be too much of an issue.
Overall it takes 18 V materia. On my server that would run about 9~15M, but I have like 4-500 Diadem Spoils and some airships at my disposal. I know the materia will be impossible to get for some peeps, I suggest you try and make diadem a thing again. My suggestion, we bring back Tri-Island farms on Hard Mode. You can get enough for 1-2 Materia per person a run there if your group is good enough, and as long as there are 5 or so groups there (Thats how I got my 4-500 or so in the two weeks Diadem was actually relevant).
