1.19 wont be the only awkward inbetween patch, 1.18 was the same way.I hope people can keep in mind that these recipe changes are simply a part of a larger system.
Materia system : Creates increased demand for NQ items, as the only way to create a piece of materia is to destroy a piece of gear. This will make it easier to sell those NQ items.
HQ changes : With the upcoming change in 1.20, that HQ ingredients will create an HQ finished item 100%, it seems quite necessary that said ingredient synths only create quantity one.
Will the new system be balanced and perfect right out of the gate? Not at all. 1.19 is an awkward "in between" phase, like the FFXIV's adolescence.
And... whered they say that HQ ingredients will always yield HQ crafts?
It was mentioned in a dev post somewhere. If you get a full set of HQ materials and craft an item it'll have a 100% chance of being a HQ item. It's also the only way to make a HQ item, and there won't be +1, +2 or +3 anymore, just +1, but +1 will be the equivalent of +3
On nice, i totally missed that oneIt was mentioned in a dev post somewhere. If you get a full set of HQ materials and craft an item it'll have a 100% chance of being a HQ item. Has anyone else noticed that dodore wings make 1 leather now, but the doublet requires 2 leathers to make? So a dodore doublet is going to require 2 wings. This seems beyond excessive in my mind. There better be a high rank crafter body piece alternative or something.
i never bothered to get one. wasnt worth my time
yep, saw that. But, perhaps the new dodore doublet will be better than the old one, and will totally make you feel better than the rest for killing that dodore. if woolen doublet is going to be in the 40's, the current dodore doublet will end up being a minor insignificant upgrade.
This whole thing confuses me... Are certain items dropping in ranks if not why all the new platemail and haubys?
Triairy posted up some information regarding the crafting recipe changes that I wanted to pass along here.
The old recipes (our current recipes) will not be removed in patch 1.19, and it will still be possible to synthesize items using the old recipes. However, after a certain amount of time, these old recipes will be removed. Once these recipes are removed, items will not be able to be synthesized using these recipes. Although the recipes will be removed, items that have been synthesized using the old recipes will not be deleted.
In regards to the items that will not be used in new recipes, these are items that will not be included in new recipes for synthesis, but it will still be possible to use old recipes including these items to perform synthesis.
However, will be removed from old recipes in patch 1.19.
- Blacksmith: Copper Ingot
- Armorer: Copper Ingot
*Recipes for synthesis by blacksmiths and armorers will no longer include copper ingots in order to maintain balance.
Also, some of the old recipes listed in the updated recipes list will be altered in patch 1.19.
There will be no recipe changes for alchemists and culinarians in patch 1.19.Are there no new recipes for alchemists and culinarians?
Recipe changes for alchemists and culinarians will be implemented in future patches.
Yes, items listed as (3) can be created 3 at a time per synthesis. There is something I’ve been wondering about. It seems like dew thread can be synthesized 3 at a time, but in the changes it says 1. Can 3 dew threads be synthesized in one sitting? It seems like it requires 3 times the materials too…
We reported the fact that ether will no longer be able to be synthesized to the development team. They responded that puk wing will be removed from the list of items that will no longer drop in patch 1.19. Thank you for noticing this.Puk wing is listed as an item that will no longer drop. The recipe for ether requires puk wing for synthesis, so does this mean that ether will no longer be able to be synthesized?

Just wondering about this part as I don't really understand it. Does it mean that items that people have that are basically obsolete and no longer aquirable in-game can still be used for old recipes whilst the old recipes still exist on the server?
It means you can keep using ogre horns to make a sword grip and synth that grip into a sword. But once the available ogre horns are gone, the synth becomes irrelevant.
Likewise you can still make the ogre horn/talon horn glue but it will only yield 1 glue post 1.19.
