I'm thinking the grade 6 dark matter is probably to repair the Ifrit gear.
I'm thinking the level cap won't raise untill patch 1.21 with the implimentation of jobs, just to stop players being maxed out at their job the moment they get them.

Level cap probably wont be raised then either. No one will be maxed out in a job the moment they get them anyways, there are quests you have to do to obtain higher abilities for that job. Just gonna be a bunch of weak ass L50 jobbers runnin around til they complete the quests.

That is a good point about the cobolt being obtainable from grade 5 nodes!
Also, we should keep in mind that if canvas is being phased out as it appears to be (??), then some other material will have to be used for all that R20-ish gear, which would suggest that they may be shuffling around what materials are used for each rank range.
I think Velveteen has be re-scaled for rank 20's so it goesThat is a good point about the cobolt being obtainable from grade 5 nodes!

Hempen > Cotton > Velveteen
now with no canvas inbetween.
Seriously who would want to wear something made of canvas anyways?![]()
they should have replaced canvas with burlap

15 abilities each? what is this... Kindergarten?A jack of all trades WHM... what is this 1989?

For the blacksmith, the recipe for 3 cobalt ingots is: 6 cobalt ore and 2 iron ore.
For armorer, the recipe for 3 cobalt ingots is: 7 cobalt ore and 1 iron ore.
Was that on purpose?

I actually like the bubblegum pink, but the shade of pink that linen used is quite nice and much more subtle! It is just a rare sight since it was only used for one not-the best R50 DoL/DoH gear set. >.<
Canvas is a lousy thing to make clothes out of though, unless we're talking sneakers. xD Then again, felt seems rather strange as well . . . but such is the nature of a game I suppose.![]()

I posted this on another thread briefly, but I will reiterate here. These changes seem a bit odd to me. First and foremost they are not updating/adding new recipes to alchemy and culinary at the same time as these said changes are beginning to take place. Ontop of that, it appears several items from alchemy are becoming...obsolete?
In the list of items now being used in new recipes, several items are not going to be used. Dyes of course, but also things like horns, scales, wings, glues etc. To compound the issue, these items also won't be dropping from mobs either. Then you also will not be able to use powders, stainsands, salts, fine sands, etc.
What exactly will alchemists be making to rank up? Also, they are drastically lowering the prices of foods from the npcs. To the point they may or may not rival the prices in the marketplace itself. Disappointment aside that they aren't doing these classes recipe changes yet, they both will also have no hand in the materia process.
I'm just really confused why these two classes continue to get the short end of the stick here. Will meager food sales and shards really be equivalent to the tons of gear and such that will be coming along the way? With the materia system also coming, weapon sales and so on will also be going up I would imagine.
I guess I'm just not sure how to think of this all. I thought alot of the recipe changes were going to be based more on these classes due to the difficulty / item demand to level them. Was it just so complex that they had to put it off?

I'm assuming Alchemy and Cooking will need more work to figure out. He did say the changes would come to those 2 jobs - they just need more time (although I wish it was in this update too).
And they're clearly trying to make 'grinding' prohibitively expensive or bridge synths difficult to find which may mean dedicating your leves to a craft. I was making 25k per leve reset doing as many bsm leves as I could for r48-50 (bout 5-8 leves)
Have they said anything about market wards? I mean with all the items being obsoleted it'd be nice for the wards to have a different colored text for the items that are being phased out (like red colored font or something).
