About costumization, thats a bit dicey there, since now all gear is supposed to have materia slots, relics may not be excepmt from this, which would mean that both main and substats will now always be fixed and leave the "costumization" to the materia side...

They haven't said either way, of course, but I suspect we'll still see it. They haven't specifically said that weapons are going to have Materia slots, anyway, and since they aren't putting in crafted weapons, I imagine that weapons won't have them. It'll just be everything else that does.

Well, for one, I also do hope the costumization is there on later steps, after all, it was the most charming part of these kind of weapons.

Except I hope it's implemented in a less effing annoying manner as the previous Relic. At least we have more options nowadays to obtain materia. Still I worry about the Grade V materia. Likely going to be just as ridiculously expensive as III's and IV's were the last time we had that part of the relic to do, and then having them fail...

If you're worried about cost of Grade V materias, just do Diadem a few times. Grade V materias will only cost 20 brass spoils each.
