To obtain a chocobo from a Grand Company, you are required to pledge your full allegiance to their cause, and to do that you must have achieved level 25 in any Discipline of War or Magic.

Thanks Bayohne.
Well, crafters and gatherers - looks like you're going to have to spend about 4 hours of your life leveling a fighting class.
Let the Rage Quit threats commence!
... actually, instead of that, can I preemptively recommend my Power-leveling services on Besaid server? I love crafters and we could work out a reasonable deal ^^
So, we, crafters, do have no right to get our own chocobo. Thank you for clear this out.

no the full time crafters and gatherers do not. if you only have one class capped and it is a con and another person has only one class capped and it is a weaver then you have the right to get into the company and get a chocobo, but the other does not. your one class has the right to get one and the others class has the responsibility to rank another class to get one.

Sure they do. They are only 'full time' because they've made that choice.
It would be like there being awesome crafter content released, and someone who only levels up DOM/W bitching b/c they can't get access to something that they've never put any real work into. Doesn't make sense.
Both classes have the exact same rights to get the chocobo. You don't get one just b/c you are of a certain rank, you get one by promising service to one of the grand companies. It's entirely reasonable for them to prefer the services of people who can actually fight in the upcoming conflict, yaknow.if you only have one class capped and it is a con and another person has only one class capped and it is a weaver then you have the right to get into the company and get a chocobo, but the other does not. your one class has the right to get one and the others class has the responsibility to rank another class to get one.

yeah, how dare people that strictly craft or gather think they could be of use by making the weapons and gear the company members will fight with, yaknow.Sure they do. They are only 'full time' because they've made that choice.

i have r50 battle classes so it doesn't hurt me, but is is just more proof that even though this game promoted crafters and gatherers being full classes in this game yoshi is turning his back on them.
edit: there's also a big difference between some kind of actual content and just being able to get an alternate way of travel just because they do not fight monsters.

In theory they both deserve it but in reality not the case. Considering that a crafter is useless to a Grand Company at this point in time that makes them not worthy of getting a personal Chocobo. If I could have my way I would make R45 a requirement to own a Chocobo and have to use rentals til you got that high and ranked up in the GC as well.Sure they do. They are only 'full time' because they've made that choice.

Yeah its smart to give battle mounts to an Weaver who cant help the army fight.......no the full time crafters and gatherers do not. if you only have one class capped and it is a con and another person has only one class capped and it is a weaver then you have the right to get into the company and get a chocobo, but the other does not. your one class has the right to get one and the others class has the responsibility to rank another class to get one.
