Why are low standards for dps acceptable?

If you dont understand your abilities why on earth are you doing content at level 60? Knowing what something does is the first thing you should do when unlocking a skill and if you don't understand your abilities and refuse to find out what they do you are indeed either lazy or incredibly rude to the other people you get stuck with.

Or they are still in the process of trying to understand it? Maybe because there is no rule saying they can't join level 60 content without a complete understanding of their skills? Maybe they gave up trying to understand and needed help and that level 60 dungeon happened to be the first place someone did help them. Just because they don't understand something fully yet means they shouldn't be able to take part in content they have paid for?

That is a question posed for those players, as I do not have that answer. I agree with you that players should know the class they are playing by level 60, but you, and quite a few people here, are disregarding human nature. Just because you can reason properly and are conscious enough to comprehend, doesn't mean that another person doesn't need instructions on their bottle of shampoo.

There is no rule, there is just etiquette and being courteous. You're actions affect 3 other people in a duty, so it's appreciated if you understand how to contribute effectively.

Generally speaking, etiquette is never hard-ruled.

In this example it is enochian. I press the button for enochian I get the effect. There is no amount of help that I can give to make that simpler. If they were even attempting it then fine. But as the OP stated they had to ask for them to even do that. That does not sound like someone trying to understand something.

Oh they can have access to all content if they so wish, just they shouldn't be surprised when people react negatively towards them. If they are at the very least attempting it then that is all good but in this topic the op talked about enochain which again is essentially raging strikes. Sure theres the business with fire/blizzard 4. But enochain itself is not hard. Press the button and thats it.

I'm not doing it to be rude or disrespect other players in dungeons, I genuinely forget about it when I am trying to work out all my other skills. May seem like the simplest thing in the world to you but I'm not used to it yet. Sometimes after a couple minutes I notice I didn't refresh it again and think "Oh screw it it's 5%" and you know I still end up #2 on the enmity list which I take to mean I'm out dpsing the other guy, but why even bother trying to explain myself when I'm clearly lazy.

For the sake of this argument Hot Shot is exactly like Enochian. Both give a 5% boost to damage. The OPs complaint was they were not using Enochian, nevermind the level 60 rotation right now.

Not saying I like it but it's a realistic outlook. As long as I keep my expectations for how the random people I encounter in a game will act extremely low I'll be less disappointed.
