    I love the OP.

For ppl who think XIs style is unfeasible today: youre wrong, its not feasible for fans of all other MMOs. There are still fans of the traditional style of FF and RPGs in general who still actually like a good time sink, it shows that you actually care enough to put in the time and effort, if u think that comment is stupid then FF may not be for u, to each their own but there needs to be an end to copying casual crappy games and difficulty against the crowd is kinda what made FF famous in the first place.

With all the crappy games that are released now (MMOs and single player alike) is it so wrong to ask for a game that you can actually be proud to do things as simple as reach cap rather than making it a brainless quest process? There has to be a company thats willing to go against trends and actually give a good game that rewards work and effort rather than the instant-gratification games, which are really all other MMOs and at least 90% single plaer games. In the past SE has been one of those companies, i hope they continue. It seems ppl dont expect them to make a real FF and thats rediculous.

This is FFonline, FF first. The best FF games required hard work to get to lvl cap and most of the game came before then and ppl forget that, instead of wanting an endgame-MMO like all the rest, real FF fans want a real FF experience and these ppl are the ones who the devs should listen to, not the jackasses who are gonna quit when monthly payments start.

Hopefully the real fans will be able to fix the stuff the others get changed, like easier lvling, but it wont happen til PS3 when we start paying, i cant wait. Like the OP said, if we wanted a mindless MMO we could pick any other one out there blindfolded and get it. Im confident that the devs wont ruin the game but for now theyre catering to ppl who may not be dedicated as a fan should be, like i said, after monthly payments start is when the game should be all that it is meant to be.

The problem with games nowadays is that theyre largely made to make money, not be art. SE hasnt disappointed me yet and im confident they wont with XIV. They make money on being different, not copying other money makers, i hope they remember that.

I'm not a fan of "all other MMOs", but a XI style timesink is still unfeasible for me, omg, it's a paradox!!! or it could just be called having RL commitments, take a guess which one is more likely.

and yes, I do think that statement is stupid.

it's not wrong, but at the same time, you may want to realize that it's your own personal preference and definition you're talking about here. What you call proud-to-reach-cap, others may see as brainless grind.

the best? most of the game before required hard grind? there's been all of ONE FF MMO before 14, and no, the single player ones don't count, as those are completely different, and for that matter - far easier to hit cap anyway.

also, it's never a good idea to claim that only you and people who agrees with you are the "true fans", since that only puts you squarely in the "jackasses" category, with a huge "I HAZ GIANT EGO" sticker on your forehead.

I'm confident the devs won't ruin the game either, since they won't be listening to people like you.

News Alert! games has always been made to make money, in case you haven't realized. Whether some game can be called art is still debatable, though most certainly aren't.
