    I agree with your solution, to a point, but I have to say, hands down - they tried to give us freedom. "We" didn't want it. Don't you remember November and December?

    "Lock gear to jobs!" "Define our party roles!" "This isn't traditional Final Fantasy!" "Require ranks on gear!" "We need structure!"

    At least we can't say they weren't listening. People did not like their freedom - the world was just too big and scary to formulate their own strategies and create their own jobs.

    It's not that people didn't want freedom. It's that nothing matters when everything is the same. There was a significant lack of uniqueness among the jobs that was bad. People wanted THAT defined. They don't want freedom taken away.
