MCH's single target damage should be buffed to above BRD level since it requires more skill to play well. BRD would still have the group synergy advantage because foe requiem is way better than hyper charge.

Right now, pretty much everyone, only plays MCH over BRD because of aesthetics. Guns are cooler than bows.

Meh I guess since I main as a SMN, I do not find the rotation all too hard, but yea MCH does require more effort. I don't know much about Bards, but yea MCHs are fun but need lots of vigilance.

If only they were rifles and maybe not even then. Pistols are probably the most boring weapon around.

I can see that it can be fun to play, however I can't help but feel bummed out by playing it. And as long as the ammo isn't active I cannot agree any of it is because of skill. Your filler combo is a roulette without ammo. I don't care much for how much skill it takes to look at timers and eyeing which skill is available more than actually watching the field, not that I have trouble dodging since I've set up my bars just for that, it doesn't change how much I don't like that. I'd love to use clean shot way more often than less than a third of the time. And they do provide better defensive support than Bards can. Keep in mind no turret is as bad as no Bloodletter/Rain of Death. And BRD are better than MCH at AoEs, solely because BRD doesn't have to give up an AoE turret for TP recovering, and 20% less damage is nothing compared to literally nothing.

My MCH still 40 but I don't know, somehow it's more fun playing MCH than BRD (My BRD still 50). Can't explain it more since it still not 60 but I love playing as MCH.

MCH is fine, it has excellent burst, but its sustain is lacking, especially with weak procs, a little tweaking is all it needs.

The problem lies in that the skill ceiling is much higher and if you mess up your burst, your damage will be quite lousy to say the least. Not to forget you put in much more effort to get the same numbers as a BRD. Its also odd that a class structured around reloading has only 2 skills that benefit from it.

I feel as though buffing Gauss Round from 150 -> 200 and/or making Ricochet the same potency as before nerfs would be helpful, that or add an ammo proc to Clean Shot (add an extra 30 potency on top of the 20 gained from ammo) Just some ideas.

    2. Physical Damage reduce/increase + MP/TP-Regenaration (tell that those Bards)
    3. Need 100% focus on buffs, procs, mechanics and movement
    4. Playstile is not fixed on a specific rotation, but depends on situations
    5. If played right, it can compete with other DPS classes
    6. AoEs are pretty nice in dungeons, too

    Playstyle:
    - Your overall DPS depends on your burst phases. You have to time your burst phases with the raid mechanics. If done right, you can shine.
    - Movement during Gauss-Barell (Wanderers Minuett for MCH) is possible without getting too low on DPS. You got tons of OGCD and Quickreload is the key.
    - This class need your attention! Never lose your Buffs and DoTs. Keep an eye on your procs and when you re able to start your burst phase. Never went brain-afk!

I m main Machinist and I totally love that class. I never regret to play it as my Main. Especially when it comes on Thordan Ex, Ravana Ex and Alexander 1 Savage. I think most people still underestimate this class. But it have some great potenial, especially for the other physical DPS classes (fuck those Mages XD).

The problem is, that leveling MCH till 60 is absolutely pain and boring. Low Level Dungeons gives you a feeling of doing no damage and slow playstyle. But when it comes to Endgame Content including ilvl 200+ gear, it will reward you when you put some extra effort in your playstyle.

Speaking of numbers: As a normal MCH-Raider (ilvl 209, but not really progress or hardcore) I can easily keep 950+ DPS (Dragoon-Buff and Bufffood including) during the entire Thordan Ex Fight. 2.400+ DPS in the first Burst-Phase, 1.300+ DPS until the transition into Phase 2.

On topic, the stuff you mention about focus applies to every job really...

So what you guys are all saying is "you need to put extra work to be on par"? Doesn't seem quite balanced to me.
