Do you also expect the DPS to throw heals too? If no then why do you expect healers to DPS?

I actually use defensive cooldowns and self-heal all the time as DPS (bloodbath, second wind). I'm constantly using some kind of self-healing on WAR as well and have been known to drop a Clemency as a PLD if it's clear the healer is struggling for one reason or another. BLM/SMN heals don't scale up with our increased HP pools, so in 3.x content they're an absolute joke. For all the 500-600 hp they restore per cure, casters are better off just trying to finish off whatever the party is fighting. Judicious application of other skills that help the party like Virus, E4E, Apocatastasis, Manawall, and Manaward are encouraged, however.

With that said, a healer that just sits there topping me off every time I hit 90% makes me facepalm. As tank, I actively use my cooldowns and self-healing skills to mitigate damage and allow the healer windows for DPS. When I look over and see the healer just standing there, jumping in circles, doing dance emotes, or spamming stupid picture macros in the party, it makes me wonder just why the hell I'm bothering to do so. It's not gonna kill you to toss out some dots or a couple of holy. I'll gladly watch my HP drop into the 25-30% range if it means the healer is making an effort to throw out some DPS. I won't kick a healer from the party for not DPS'ing, but unless they are new to the class and/or the game they probably are not going to get my commendation.

When I heal, I practically live in Cleric Stance. Standing there waiting for the tank to take damage is boring. x_x

Do you find yourself doing nothing while waiting to heal? These are the times you should be dpsing. If you end a fight with full MP and everyone else's resources are drained then you are, in fact, being lazy. Sorry

I seen healers before actually doing nothing but throwing the occasional cure while sitting with a nice full MP pool. I've not said anything but they just don't get commendations from me.

Excuse me it is not being lazy. I took healer to heal not DPS. If I wanted to DPS I would play a DPS class. If I keep everyone alive then I am doing my job.

Just shows I know how to properly use my mp. Not going to over heal and waste mp you never know there may be a oh shit situation might happen where I almost use all my mp. Not being lazy just using less mp till that time comes. If that time never comes oh well till next time

If I feel the party is in a safe place in terms of not dying, then and ONLY then I will throw out any sort of DPS. This said, anyone that thinks otherwise in a DF will have my DoTs take a higher priority to keeping said persons alive.

Not lazy, tank always needs a cure no matter what hp at unless 100%.So I'll cure 1 for days till I get a free cure 2 and then pop regen but a heal is a heal

The game strongly encourages healers to DPS and makes it feasible to do so. That being said, I finished that dungeon this morning in 20 minutes in DF without an insane amount of healer dps, if it took you 40 minutes with only one wipe there's more than enough blame to go around.

There is a balance, I do think healers should use DOT things when they can, whm have some Aero spells or whatever for that right? Just don't go overboard, when I am bard it bugs me when WHM empties their MP pool with stone 2 or 3 or something then asks for Ballad which lowers my dps by 20%.

Is it really such a big deal if a healer does not attack in a dungeon? rly?
I don't feel comfortable trying to do damage while healing because all the time I switch to cleric someone takes a big hit every time.
I'll stay Heal only most of the time giving my team the saftey to go full beastmode without any worries is more my way to play
