Healers are expected to toss some dots, sure if your slammed and have to heal back to back to keep the tank or dps up I understand, but I main AST and find time to still throw some dots up and cast my attack spells. Don't be lazy.

Excuse me it is not being lazy. I took healer to heal not DPS. If I wanted to DPS I would play a DPS class. If I keep everyone alive then I am doing my job.

Do you also expect the DPS to throw heals too? If no then why do you expect healers to DPS?

If your a summoner or blackmage and see the tank dropping and the healer struggling, then sure, why not? I do it all the time, may not be the MOST effective, but a little heals will assist in keeping that tank up.

It was somewhat decent in ARR, but after the expansion it never really scaled up so it's currently rather unhelpful.

If by somewhat decent, you mean it was an OK heal at level 25, then sure. However, even then, you'd be unwise to use it.

If it isn't raiding, I don't necessarily care if the healer isn't DPSing. If DPS checks aren't being met in expert dungeons, there's more problems than just the healer not tossing some DoT's. Otherwise, who cares? The dungeon takes a couple minutes longer than what you want, boohoo.

This is my thought. In a DF roulette it is rarely worth the bother of making an issue out of it.

Lets just put it like this, its the difference between an okay healer and a good healer. Your job is to keep the tank alive, if things die quicker cus of your help they take less damage.

I'm a great healer but your analogy for us to be great is silly.
When T6 was first out without buffs or echos I solo'd healed it because other healer got locked out.
To you I guess I'm good not great
