That much is for sure. But players, especially better players, are prone to set the standards unrealistically. Play a few PvP games, get yourself ranked and then look at where you stand relative to others. If you are what people like to consider "midcore" in this game, chances are you are actually ranked in the top 20% consistently.

That aside, players play "lazily" (I don't think that's the proper word for WM/GBless BRD/MCH) for one simple reason: It provides more enjoyment to that person. Thus, the question becomes:"At what point does the enjoyment gained by the person outweigh the enjoyment gained by the group?"

It's not as clear cut as Kaurie likes to believe. If there's a detrimental performance choice that greatly improves your enjoyment but doesn't impede the enjoyment of others proportionally, you definitely "should" make it.
