Incorrect, Whining about the same grind is pointless, even if it was different type of grind people will still complain, because it's not a 20 minute fetch quest.
People are angry because the first stage is atma farming..we was told they hated the Atma farming thing and would never do it again we was promised! And here we are 6 months on with an Atma grind....Stage 2 is great it uses the old dungeons so new players get ques good...
Stage 3...ah this is the big fail not the epic grind but the bad crafting need.
Also what was wrong with the extreme fights we have? Id be much happier if i had to do all 3 extremes.

A hundred times would be stretching it for me. If I can do the fight while not paying attention to it then I feel that i'm not playing a game anymore. I like MMO's because of the teamwork aspects of it, but if people have run a instance so many times that its ingrained in their nature.... then isn't that boring?
So I guess in short, no. I don't think it's fun unless it is somehow still challenging, but the scripted nature of the fights in this game do not allow for that kind of content.
In wow, you generally don't have to run dungeons and raid a large amount of time. You only do dungeons to get geared up (a few time is generaly enough) and only run raids once per week for around 1 year (50 weeks), or less (and if you get bored with the game you can just unsub while waiting for the expansion).

which is by the time you finish your anima weapon, it will be patch 3.2 and the weapon will be totally useless

No, they want relevant content with decent replay value. That is the point I tried to make earlier. It does not matter what SE comes up with. They could have created a whole new set of 10 trials that you had to succeed but each one as difficult as AS4 and people would complain it is too difficult and takes too long. No matter what you do someone is going to complain.
Create an entire new quest line, with little grind - people be done in a day and say they are bored
Create challenging contact - People complain and states its too hard and takes too long.
What we have now - People complain because it takes too long and is boring.
Again what time frame is acceptable to complete this type of quest?
SE cant afford for their game to suddenly lose Subs, FF14 has been slowly losing people due to the lack of anything new or any good content and this just makes things worse. Not much they can do to come up with new ideas? Why not add 3 new primals for the relic?
See if SE even try they can come up with new ideas, they just seem to be lazy and can not be bothered anymore.
