Classes are tanaka-era, so no more classes, just jobs.

My guess? SAM will be DPS with mnk/drg. RDM melee/support along with NIN. MCH/BRD rng/support

Ninjas use Wakazashi, not katanas. And if the SAM were to use anything, I would like to see then use an Odachi.1) might want to say Great Katana since ninja already uses Katanas. 2) I'm really hoping they add a class that can dual like arcanist. Honestly I wouldn't care if they didn't add a new class and just made some of the existing classes more dual oriented in 4.0. Easy enough to do with warrior.

In the beginning, SAM was planned to be a tank and DRK a DPS.
But they needed a tank for Heavensward, and since 1) they just released an eastern oriented job with Ninja and 2) Dark Knight felt better with the mood, Yoshi decided to make DRK the tank, and keep SAM as a conceivable future DPS.
As for Iroha as the SAM trainer, even if it's wishful thinking, I don't see any reason for her to stay in Eorzea apart from that. So, a bit of foreshadowing to 4.0, I hope![]()
Then beastmaster or corsair is their chance to make it up to me cause of their crappy 3.0 brd (mch)pretty much already been announced that the dev team plans on implementing all of the standard FF jobs at some point. Samurai being the most popular its almost guaranteed to get added. But just so you know its probably going to be a tank as the current trend recommends.

I was going to make this comment myself before I saw this post. There is no such thing as a 'Great Katana', they just don't exist and if you really want a long Japanese sword a Nodachi (almost interchangeable with Odachi, but there's a slight difference in the meaning where Nodachi fits the concept better) would be what you are looking for.

Great Katanas were actually the weapons Samurai used in FFXI along with several others, Katanas were Ninja only.I was going to make this comment myself before I saw this post.
