Agreed!Wow. This thread is still up? Quit feeding this pokemon. Here it is, plain and simple:
What you are asking for is an Action RPG based MMO.
The direction FFXIV is clearly headed in is a Traditional RPG based MMO.
One is not better than the other. One will never be better than the other. That is entirely a matter of opinion. Both can, should, and will coexist forever.
If you like Action RPG based MMOs, and do not enjoy Traditional RPG based MMOs - don't let the door hit you on the way out.

can't think of any FF titles where i can do a backflip to dodge an incoming fire spell, or where i can jump while firing my bow. i think u are thinking of a different type of game. not that i'm saying action isn't good, but i'll put gears of war on when i want to pump up the adrenaline
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.

"Looks around" so where's my backflip <-- lol i liked it

altho theres a point that i quite like from the OP, dodging, i dont feel that it could be balanced into an mmo without making it too easy for the people who play hack n slash type games and people who posibly havent even touched a game without that sort of gameplay may find too hard. Id quite like to see environment affect gameplay tho. Not the old "the target is too high above you" stuff, that was silly but having line of sight i feel would bring in a lot of tactics for us. i realise tho this would take a lot of balancing, but thats part of a decent mmo right?

Pikachu, I couldnt even read your whole post because of how Every Word Was Capitalized, but thats not the kind of engine the game has, you know this.

I thought he was emphasizing each word to show that it is important to his speech.

We need flasher weapon skills, abilitys and content. Lack of battle content is main cause of everyones bordem. Game needs more enemys and NMs.
Instent Raids or content only good if its long and there is a decent limit to it. Players finishing it within a week or less is a problem when devlopers cant keep up with the players.

Because some of the biggest "install base" for some game series lack action in the term of being an action game. Most RPG series have millions upon millions of fans and players, some don't even have context sensitive jumping or dodging.
So no, turning every game into an action game doesn't bring in players, if your game is fun in it's own right it does, because using your logic, games like Minecraft, Super Meatboy, Castle Crasher or any other type of indie game shouldn't have any players, because they aren't using "Oh so realistic /nomalicious" graphics that's popular with this generation of games.

Lol they are still listening to the community. With the instant air ships to stay the same to jumping, they still are.I think it comes from how the devs listened to the community in the past and changed the game to what most players wanted. Not all MMO's do that, but because this one did some people get the idea that they'll keep doing it to suit everyone's palette.
They should just leave Yoshi and his team to do what they think is right and see how it comes out. With the way things have been progressing since the revamp started it's defenitely improving, it's just going to take time till everything is running at full speed.
I still don't see why so many people are against jumping. How is it copying World of Warcraft? LOL. So every other game that has jump is copying World of Warcraft? Shooot, you people crack me up

Thank God that FFvsXIII is going to change that! (Type-0 will as well)can't think of any FF titles where i can do a backflip to dodge an incoming fire spell, or where i can jump while firing my bow. i think u are thinking of a different type of game. not that i'm saying action isn't good, but i'll put gears of war on when i want to pump up the adrenaline
