Is the Duty Finder working as it should?

Adjustments have been made to the Duty Finder algorithm to address increased queue times resulting from adjustments made in 3.1.
Patch 3.1 introduced a change to the matching algorithm for Duty Roulette wherein it would “prioritize matching the party to instances for which the party meets the number of members required”, resulting in the roulette role numbers to appear as “0”.
Although the window may have displayed incorrectly, the internal matching process was still functioning correctly, so we have temporarily removed the role matching window. We are looking into modifying the specifications in the future.

So those who had the horribly long queues, go ahead and let us know if you're experiencing them now.

So basically they added another layer to the matching and it collapsed under added conditions. Nice they haven't seen this issue anywhere else in the game before, not at all.

So someone justify to me why this couldn't have been discussed, before the patch or during the patch or after the patch. What happen to a company who is trying to listen to the players and learn from past mistakes. I am not saying the change was bad (even if it was). Over the last twelve months we have seen many signs of the game being run 1.0ish. I am not saying they can promise the moon. But maybe they need some really community managers and not just moderators.

Well, i think that algorithm is still messed up.
-Started playing my Lancer lvl 26 at around 4pm PST - Daily Roulette: Leveling > 40 mins queue
Asked the other dps who got in the group and he/she waited 30 mins. (Was above lvl 50)

-After that tried the Daily Roulette: Guildhests around 5pm PST > 6 mins queue

Thats what i have got so far, havent tried with a high level toon myself.
Still the queue times feel too long, at least for the dungeon lvling.

So in the patch notes it says 2.0] The matching algorithm for Duty Roulette has been adjusted to reduce wait times. I am a healer trying to do the Expert Roulette my Average wait time says 5m but my Time Expired is of right now is 25m. Last night I got to 40m and left. Before the update I got in as healer within 5m or less and as a DPS around 15m. I have yet to try DPS.

Anyone else having problems with the duty finder Roulette.

P.S. I can get in under 5m if I'm not in the Duty Roulette.

This is a bug, if you open duty status and it says 0 of all roles then withdraw and reque.... it will pop under 5. Otherwise you will be qued forever.

I noticed this on my healer after 3.1 landed. Never more than a 10 minute wait. Then suddenly ques no popping for 30+ minutes. Withdraw reque... boom in under 5 min.

Kind of lame that this is happening. feel bad for dps players.

There's no role display as of yesterday's hotfix.
You only see your Selected Class & Current Class

As one of those people, who had huge problems with Leveling Roulette - it seems like it's way better for me. Got into leveling roulette twice in ~30 minutes, where after the previous patch it was usually an hour or not at all (150 minutes and still going).

In some way I am trully grateful to SE for fixing it, in another I wish there was a better communication and better insight. The CM stated before that there is no actual problem with the Duty Finder, when there actually was one and people were sending proofs of that. More than that - a lot of us was called retarded because "SE said there is no bug". A lot of people didn't believe me in here, a lot of people didn't believe me on Reddit.

I know I just shouldn't care about it but it just leaves me in slight disgust.

That's the problem when a bug is only hitting some people and not others. Errors that aren't reproducible are the toughest to diagnose. That's why I kept probing, trying to see if there was a common thread between those who were experiencing it, and a different common thread for those who were not.

So is the only reliable way to get in to do the leveling duty roulette to que, wait, and withdraw and reque? I'm trying to level a rogue and it's nerve-wracking

Yes I'm still having issues too..
also having issues when one person withdraws, I lose everyone and have to wait the full time again..
