Is the Duty Finder working as it should?

Duty Finder for Daily Roulette is absolutely broken for me.

Average fluctuates less than 5.. 12..19 25 then back to less than 5 meanwhile i've been in the queue an hour+

If I leave DF and tick the 4 highest level dungeons the class Im playing is eligible for it pops in less than 10 minutes everytime.

Not only did I just manage to level my machinist to 60 USING the duty finder I have moved onto to level something else... but wait my duty roulette for leveling DOES NOT and I mean that because I've been trying none stop for a duty for over a day with no success. It's not even managed to put me into an in progress one either, it had been working fine up until saturday helping me finish my second dps and I'm leveling another dps and all of a sudden I got nothing outta it.
Not only has this become slightly annoying it means I'm kinda halted on even enjoying the game at all. Yeah I have beast tribes and yeah we got the new shiny stuff but not being able to do the simplistic thing of duty roulette leveling is just a joke because I actually enjoy it.

Leveling Summoner to 60, pre 3.1? Quick and painless.
Post 3.1, I go to level BLM/ARC and I literally have to drag another 3 folks with me to get the queue to pop.

My patience with this game (and I've given it a lot) is starting to wear thin and I fear this sub cycle may be my last. I'm sure I'm not alone.

I am working on white mage and astrologian. AST is lower level (just dinged 37) and WHM is 52. Both still have instant or near instant queues. I think I waited two minutes or so once.

As before, this issue is only hitting some people and not others.

For a curious one...my expert and trial Roulette works fine, as does my Leveling one...EXCEPT when I am playing BLM, at which point nothing popped for me. My other jobs Leveling still works for what are normal times for that job so its really wierd.

From what I have been hearing and seeing it appears that the issue is that when they adjusted the algorithm they gave priority to players queued for a specific dungeon over people queued for roulette. Which means healers and tanks queued for roulette get snagged by the specific queue people over dps that have been waiting in roulette much longer. Hopefully this will be fixed with the upcoming hotfix.

I really hope they do tho before the patch the queues where painless for Tanks and Healers even dps was relatively smooth for me.

Now I easily sit in queue for 30+ minutes as a healer for the daily EX roulette and trial roulette.
I also find it annoying that I cant see anymore what the missing roles are when queuing for roulette's you just get the generic "reserving instance screen with a est. timer" however if you queue for a specific dungeon you still see the signups.

Yesterday for example I queued with a fellow tank and dps (basically we missed 1 DPS) and it still took us over 15 minutes for the EX roulette to pop! I find it hard to believe there was not a single DPS queuing for the roulette or the specific ex dungeons across the whole Chaos datacentre.
And that was with me already sitting 15 minutes in queue before I canceled and invited the others.
I tend to queue with one language restriction (E) in this case maybe that causes issues in the algorithm?

I keep hearing they give prio to the queuing of the specific dungeons over the roulette but I even tried that as a healer for arbo or sirus and it still took over 20 minutes before I gave up.....

Been leveling all three of my melee DPS lately. I can sit in leveling roulette for 45+ minutes without a pop. When I un que for it and select ONE dungeon I get a pop within 10-15 minutes. Lol wut? Shouldn't roulette be faster since technically all the dungeons I can enter are selected?

I stopped doing leveling roulette. The time I sit in it is NOT worth the reward. Dunno if tanks and healers have the same issue with leveling roulette.

Hey everyone,

Just a heads up, the hotfix planned for tomorrow will not only adjust the algorithm for Duty Roulette: Expert, but for all Duty Roulette options. We'll continue to observe the data and make necessary adjustments. Once the hotfix is live, try it out and let us know any further feedback or comments you have!
