3.1 : Astrologian "adjustments''

Astrologian is on par with the other healers and in alot of cases now being the replacement for white mages. Not sure what the gripe is? As long as we are as strong or stronger then white mages in pure healing we will not have our other issues fixed.

AST is only on par with WHM. It can beat WHM right now depending on the fight and the skill levels, but once you realise AST scales the worst with PIE by having no tool regenerating mana according to PIE (like Assize and Aetherflow) and SCH taking care of mitigation way better than an AST is when AST falling behind becomes painfully obvious later. The only case AST will flat-out beat WHM later without further job changes is if the value of accuracy increases, the healing requirements stay the same and accuracy on healer gear won't be introduced (in which case Balance/Arrow and Combust/Combust2 will push WHM on the sidelines).


And neither healer is on par with SCH. SCH is the off-healer king and the only thing that will change that is making both healers in the 2/2/4 setup having to heal consistently and reducing the value of mitigation drastically, so SCH can't use ED to regain mana for offensive spells and the uptime on Cleric Stance becomes 3 DoTs at most every 30 seconds.

People just want WHM + AST to be a little better without having the other members of the group perform much more and for nocturnal to not be ditched the moment its mitigation isn't required anymore.

I'm playing both (see sig. Lilli is my WHM. Shinka is my AST). I have any content clear except A3S and A4S on both. In A3S I know the fight up to the end of tornado phase (so only one phase is left I didn't could practise).

The overall healing and oCD toolkit of the whitemage is still much stronger. But the number of whitemages that know how to get the max potency out of it, is very low.

But it would not be bad if the AST is the healer with the lowest healing potency. We don't need a second whitemage or scholar. AST should be different. If not, there would be no reason at all for that class. But as long the special point of the AST class is random and not reliable, the AST will be always stay behind the other healing classes in raids.
