    They need to just do:

Story mode = Story + no rewards. Easy difficult so the more casual players can experience the lore without having a static.

Normal mode = Difficulty maybe something around ScoB with echo. Good gear rewards, will probably require a static until overgeared and put into DF. Nerfs possible.

Savage mode = Hardest difficulty for the hardcore. Static required. Best weapon and gear in the game. No nerfs. No DF.

Savage must offer better gear. Period. Or else it will be ignored by 99.9% of the population.

You can stick to just doing casual content for all I care. If you want to engage in raiding content, then you have to realize that it will require more out of you than content before that and you are not entitled to less. People cannot be expected to be hand held through everything. If the world wants a Easy > Normal > Savage set up, it would not bother me at the end of the day. If we can only pick two as Yoshi-P says, then Normal > Hard needs to be the way to go. There needs to be a curve in raiding, all we have are spikes. Savage might be extreme, but Story Mode is an extreme in it's own right.

More like Story Mode = Alexander Normal 2; Normal Mode = Savage 2; Savage Mode = Savage 3/4

It's not what I said, but exactly what I meant. To me at least, A1S & A2S are equivalent to Second Coil with echo. I like the difficulty of AS3 and 4 so I'd stick with that.

    Why thanks!

Have you considered that "if" easy and savage are both extremes "and" there is a need for a curve, "then" easy > normal is just as valid as normal > savage?
Before answering, consider the fact that the clear rates of savage are quite a bit below the developers expectations.

That aside...really? "People have a choice - they can just not experience the content at all if they don't like it hard!". That's, uhm...great? I can see now how you totally don't want to exclude people from the content if they don't share your preferences. My sincerest apologies for twisting your words there.

I'm gonna take a break. I'm getting sarcastic again.

If anything just give savage gear an extra materia slot over the hard mode. And give it purple text for the bragging rights.

It's not much but it will be motivation over rewarding nothing.

I'm surprised only one person has commented on this (that I noticed anyway). It's a bit up in the air at the moment, since we don't know what this actually entails, but I don't like the sound of this at all.

yay, 2 dungeons to run daily for the next 3 to 4 months.

They will learn someday, when active players drop below 1 million maybe.

Reading between the lines, this doesn't primary mean, its a burden because of the contents difficult itself.

Looking at the current expert instances.

If everything would be done like designed, the healer is around 30% busy by healing. Maybe less.

What are the other 70% for in the mind of the designers?

    Compensating mistakes!

In the current expert dungeons its nealy impossible to fail, when you have a good healer.

A hard 4 man would mean, the healer would be busy maybe for around 80% by healing when no mistakes will happen.

So there is a much lower amount of room to comensate.
