Just watch the crystal tower CS, it's pretty much going to be the same story. On a serious note, if they go back to the old model, 20% echo + mechanic nerfs allow a lot of people to see the story. Nerfed coil with echo is only slightly harder than what A4N is now.I just hope the removal of the same story/savage diffculity doesn't mean those of us who can't / don't want to do savage get locked out of the story. I don't mind if story mode gets bumped up in difficulty a bit but it will feel pretty bait and switch if they jack it all the way up to savage diffculity and remove our option to get a proper easier story mode.
I wouldn't mind Nerfied Coil with Echo difficulty just as long as they don't go to un-nerfed coil level of difficulty. One thing though having played through parts of nerfed coil though i would hope they tone down down the one shot mechanics as it felt really cheesy to just go oh you were off by a little your dead.
Some post about pld not being able to dps, it a freaking tank go play a dps job then.
I will have the pitchforks at me again, but I don't believe you should have things handed to you right at the start. There needs to be challenge end game, there needs to be something you need to work hard to achieve. Not just grind till you get an item you want. This is a video game, challenge should be accepted, not questioned. Story is one of FF's richest features and having it handed to you with no effort at least end game wise devalues the content. I felt like it was a great reward and achievement beating T12/13 in Coils and finally getting to learn the events that transpired. For people who cannot beat that level of difficulty, that is what echo buffs and vertical progression are for, to make it easier for you over time.I just hope the removal of the same story/savage diffculity doesn't mean those of us who can't / don't want to do savage get locked out of the story. I don't mind if story mode gets bumped up in difficulty a bit but it will feel pretty bait and switch if they jack it all the way up to savage diffculity and remove our option to get a proper easier story mode.
People should acknowledge raids are meant to be hard and take with a grain of salt that it is content that might be inaccessible to you till you have the conditions met that you can take it on. All Easy mode accomplishes is you get your satisfaction right away without effort and its left and abandoned after a few small weeks when people get the items they want. Does nothing but become a grind at that point. The content might be suitable for the short term, but it will not last the months. People quit doing Alex(Normal) soon as they got the items they want, it had no real longevity.
Like I said, I am just the unpopular opinion of wanting challenges thrown at me.
They sorta did this with Alex NM already, but it was out geared really quickly. Saw enrages + several wipes on my first runs though, and the forum had topics where people said they couldn't get through A4 and PF was all "experience needed."A normal mode becomes more accessible over time through overgearing and echo, as well as the eventual DF introduction. This ultimately becomes unnessescary with how easy the intial normal mode Alexander is now (considering it;s tuned to even be DFable and be do-able with slackers)
...though even now none of these fights are a guaranteed win. Plenty of chances for DF to make everyone go splat.
Yeah there hasn't been a week I've gone into Alex normal where I haven't seen a wipe on at least one of the 4 wings. Heck the other week I had a group that wiped on faust once and the oppressors twice before we downed it.They sorta did this with Alex NM already, but it was out geared really quickly. Saw enrages + several wipes on my first runs though, and the forum had topics where people said they couldn't get through A4 and PF was all "experience needed."

Main Scenario
Oh man, WoD vs WoL is only the last thought? I hope that doesn't mean we'll not get a lot of WoD action in this patch .-.
Ministrel Ballad : Thordan's Reign
Ahaha. Haha. Ha. =.=
If the coordination is anywhere near what T9 required, I don't see random groups clearing this anytime soon x)
Void Ark
An option to prevent people from instantly leaving as soon as their equipment doesn't drop would be to let ALL gear drop on ALL the bosses. Getting your desired loot would still be just as random as before but everyone would stick around until the end to have the chance to get their desired loot.
Four-man Dungeons
I like a good challenge on my healer..<3 Do it, please!Regarding a hard four-man dungeon, it will be hard to implement as the burden on healer will be intensive.
Airship Exploration
Ivl 179 minimum? Uh, I guess I'll have to throw more stones at my secondary classes to get their gear to the point where they can participate in that .-.
Eeeeeh? Like, in general?! Or only about explorations? Update speed is slow enough as it is since HW hit. I don't need un update that doesn't add a lot of new stuff..u-UNext update scheduled at 3.3. 3.2 will focus on adjusting current content.
Gold Saucer
Oh great, already some MGP saved.
VanuVanu Beast Tribe Quests
New dyes? NEW COLORS?! *____* My inner glamour fangirl is dancing right now.
Level 50 Dungeons
Ok I guess..? I already leveled all the classes I care about to 55/60. So I don't really care what they do to 50 dungeons..xD
Alexander
Holy shit, I knew the clear rates were low, but that is ridiculous!
Maybe SE should take a clear look on WHY people haven't bothered to finish it. Judging by the forums, difficulty is just one part of it. The lack of other motivation might play a big role, too...
Job Adjustment
This is basically saying "We know PLD sucks right now, we also know WHY it sucks and what would need to be changed to fix it...but yeah, no, we are not gonna do any of that"
Seal Rock
That's okay. PvP is just something of secondary interest anyway.
3.2 Materia Changes
Is this about the whole "materia into raid gear" thing? Man, I never thought they'd bring my most hated 1.0 feature back..x)
VR
Didn't even know this was a thing. But even just imagining it..woha, I would have SO bought myself some Nerve Gea- ehm, I mean, Occulus Rift or the like ^^°
Just so I could sink into this fantastic world <3
Well, I don't think anyone has an issue with that.
The reason that opinion is unpopular is because you want to exclude people who do "not" want challenges thrown at them. It's one thing to say:"Please give me an option that suits my tastes!" and another to say:"Don't give them an option to suit their tastes!".
That said, it's fine to say:"Hey, I don't want story mode to be a prerequisite for the harder modes because I'd like to work harder for my story and story mode spoils it for me!" No problem there. It's when you say:"Other people should have to work hard because I like to work hard." that it becomes an issue.
I don't think it's really the same. The entire raid was face rolled in hours and any wipes you see in here are typically because people aren't paying attention to extremely basic things like picking up adds in A4 or not paying attention. There ren't any hard mechanics here, they are on the level of crystal tower difficulty if not easier. They sorta did this with Alex NM already, but it was out geared really quickly. Saw enrages + several wipes on my first runs though, and the forum had topics where people said they couldn't get through A4 and PF was all "experience needed."
