I am sure they are going to say something during the Live Letter. Or maybe they are not. They are pretty good at dodging awkward questions.

They usually don't do QoL/changes stuff for classes unless their performance was contingent on it. Which... isn't applicable for BRD. It's still bad enough that I would never want to pick up a bow over a gun though.

Same for the most part. I am only gearing BRD now since it is good to be able to switch between the two for raiding. It feels clunky in comparison to how MCH plays. Would definitely enjoy BRD more if they made the abilities work better with WM. It works and not standing in the way of BRD being able to be competitive, but it feels unnatural compared to MCH. BRD's have been complaining since Day 1, so maybe they will respond in some fashion about it. Maybe they will get a "git gud" comment like we MCH did.

I got in a Alexander static, and we desperatly need a bard with our party setup. I was asked to come on bard, I said yes, and we rocked shop. However, I was struck with the realization that I don't want to use WM. I don't enjoy it, and my enjoyment is most important to me. So now I have to talk to my static and tell them "Hey, I don't mind coming on bard since we need one, but I am not going to use WM. I'm not going to hate my raid time for doing something I don't want to do."

I rolled a bard because I wanted to be a bard, not a black mage. I also feel that SE couldn't care less. I'm sorely dissapointed in their lack of acknowledgement on this. The official forums having 3 bard threads that haunt the main page for weeks on end, and no statement on it? Do you really think so little of us, SE? Even after we came back after the 1.0 colossal screw up? I'm not demanding a rework of the class, I want the respect we all deserve. Just say something about it.

+1. Its less that im angry than that i just dont to play the style thats been forced on my main. Bard was a very flexible, dynamic and easy to maneuver ranged. The only one at that. Why some people think "go mech if you dont like new brd" was reasonable is beyond me. If se just wanted to implement this great range/cast-mashup so bad, why didnt they just make the mech like it :/ im sure you wouldnt like it much if i told you your blm "can" (will have to, people expect it since its cool!) cast his spells in half the time and thereby up dps -> when staying in melee range only oO the change is a lame way to deal with the problem "brd bro, u do less dmg than other dps", and i wouldve very much prefered WM to simply have the usual drawback "can not be coupled with other songs" (want me to go full dps? Fine, if you dont need foe. Need mana? Ouuuch my dps, manage it better!) instead of ... This

If a BRD can dish out the same dps and AOE dps as a BLM then you can finally compare yourself to a BLM...
A BLM can't recovers everyone's MP and TP and also lowering magic defense, thus increasing magic DPS for the whole raid, preventing a debuff, you can't really compare yourself to BLM, I don't get it why BRD people still comparing themselves to BLM.

Because if you use WM you attacks get cancelled when u move. Oh, and because they get a cast time. Duh? And thats exactly the next point: even if you butcher your flexible unit towards cast, hes STILL not a as dpsy as blm or melee. Aoe is a nice word to throw in, since i loved to blitz through old ex roulette (wanderer hm) with the 3 aoe rotation free shots. Those got butchered too, yay

-1 for me. I like the new BRD and I like switching between WM and no WM depending on the situation of the fight.
Also, all the BRDs I know ingame are still BRDs AND use WM. They got used to it and now they just play their class (and do well with it). Yes, there are several complaining threads in the forums. But it's always the same people complaining there, which may mean that in the end, only a handful of BRDs actually quit their job for real and cry about it now, so SE doesn't feel the need to issue a statement in response to those few players who actually dropped the class because of the changes.

I don't think i'm the only BRD out here that has to play the job because of their static needs it. Yes, I could find another group, but I enjoy playing with the ones i'm with at the moment. Sure we all got used to this new playstyle that feels like we are driving a huge pile of shit without a steeringwheel, but that doesn't mean we enjoy it. I git gud and still hate bard. The end.

I bet if all of the bards would just leave and if there really were that many that SE is concerned about the amount of subs they lost, they'd change how bard works. Meaningful threats never gets anything changed "IM SO MAD I QUIT" *continues playing for the next half month or more*

Most bards have left. It doesn't mean they quit the game, but does mean they quit the class. They are getting hate for their class, being kicked from parties, and generally being looked down on. The people who defend it are few and far in between.

I personally heal now, after saying I wouldn't use WM anymore. And I when I do dungeon runs I see one bard every.... 15-20 runs , maybe less.

The bards are quiting, but SE gets money still so they don't care. I can't wait for the next tally of who does what class, although I'm sure they'll lie on it.
