I think at this point, considering all the races we do have, i'd love to have a non-humanoid for once. I'm sure SE could make something awesome.
Shrugs, I mean, they're introducing the Void Ark.. And that doesn't mean the Dev team can't focus on more than one thing. It's also a little rude to come into a thread asking for entirely off topic things, don't you think? Like it wouldn't be cool if someone waltzed in on one of the class threads going "This is all meaningless fluff, I play this game for the lore and characters, Dev team, make more clothes for me and not this dumb stuff".
So what you are saying is because I have an opinion different from you (that Viera should not be added) and gave reasons for my opinion.. It isn't valid? Sometimes I love internet logic.

Newer players to MMO games will likely draw from their experiences playing FPS games, GTA, Dragon Age, Skyrim, etc.. and they will evaluate a MMO based on that criteria. But other online games (and offline RPGs) are designed to be picked up, played for maybe 5 months and then abandoned for when the next big game comes along. A Veteran MMO gamer knows that the experience of the game is stretched out over years, and if crafted properly, it leaves players with some of the best gaming experiences to be found anywhere. This is the problem most content is solo and you get your group action from a cross-server queueing tool. This is not like older MMOs where servers developed real communities. It's more like MacDonald's Drive-Thru, where you queue up, do your run, then never meet those people again.
Crystal tower's in the game too, guess we're gonna have dwarves or something from FF3 added too? I mean.. What else are you going to pirates that use air ships?
The reasons are entirely off topic though. I agree with you completely on your second point, the issue is you did this "I play this game to do raid after raid, Dev team, make more 4 entirely different raids each patch to play and not content that a lot of people enjoy."
I'm a giant dragon and heretic sympathizer and I love character customization
See my thread about equalizing the heights for men and women of each race! http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/253435-A-suggestion-regarding-height.
See, I'm not exactly opposed to cutesy races, but when it's literally the only thing they make with no leeway for tough looks for the girls of the race (boys of the race being the opposite with little leeway for cute looks), it looks so lazy (imo) and I get so frustrated with it. I'd figure a bunch of this would be really minor stuff, like a "fur patch" option for the Miqo'te to give a more feral look, a lack of height differences between the guys and girls within a race (Like what the Lalafell currently have), a choice between the body scales that you want for the Au Ra, et cetera.
I just hate it because SE's strategy for making new races seems to be "Let's pander to one demographic and just barely to make stuff for the other demographics" (See the one "mean" face for the girl Au Ra, the two "demi"beast-men, and the less-than-half-as-thick-as-the-guys, amazonian esque attractive Roegadyn women), and it's really frustrating imho. Like, I understand it's appealing to the main demographic, but would it kill them to give other demographics some love?

Honestly, I don't believe them adding such options would be a major drain of available resources... given that they're not exactly creating a new race out of thin air. The framework for the races are already set within the game and simple cosmetic options shouldn't be so highly demanding in terms of the amount of resources needed to make them possible, which makes you wonder if they really just don't want to add those options themselves unless their main demographic asks for it.I just hate it because SE's strategy for making new races seems to be "Let's pander to one demographic and just barely to make stuff for the other demographics" (See the one "mean" face for the girl Au Ra, the two "demi"beast-men, and the less-than-half-as-thick-as-the-guys, amazonian esque attractive Roegadyn women), and it's really frustrating imho. I understand it's just business in the end, but it really does suck to know/feel we're part of the demographic that doesn't really have much weight in terms of design decisions or input.
