FFXIV 2nd expansion: Viera-like race still a possibility?

Dude, Yoshi himself said that Au Ra could look like succubi, he's already sexualizing the races himself. Not to mention the miqote/catgirls that are sexualized in nearly every anime everrrrrrr so where's the reason to not have viera in here again?

But anyway, of course the "Sexualizing" would be dumbed down by removing any existence of a butt of any kind, and a fairly limited boob slider, which right now highlander hyur sized is the biggest so far and its far from oversexualized. surprised no one mentioned the hempen shirt for fem highlanders, is that not overly sexualized too since the viera race is too much??

Nah I got it, I was adding info for the other guy based on your correction for him. Basically there's still no reason to not have the race inside the game because they would be "sexualized" since the designers themselves sexualize all the races in the game all the time and really isn't a valid reason for Viera to not be in the game.

I'm expecting some strong disagreement but I think the majority (read: not all!) of people asking for a more beast-like tribe wouldn't really take advantage of it or use it, just like how I don't think the people asking for Snowboarding or Blitzball in the Gold Saucer would play those things for maybe a week. It's an idea that seems popular on paper just because it's an "obvious inclusion" but at the same time I don't think it would garner much long-time love. Guaranteed that after a month or two passes and the "new race smell" diminishes, we'd be back to having the streets flooded with Miqote and Au Ra, with some Lalafells sprinkled in.

No thanks. Viera (and bunny themed things in general) are really lame imo. Give us the wolf-like race instead. Or anything that isn't 95% human.

all of the races will always be 95% human. They flattened our characters' butts out and made their body types as similar as possible in order to quickly get new gear out. they claim it's too hard to even shrink the boob socks on most gear so men and women can have the same nubmer of gear options. If the race was completely different, it would take much longer than female to male alerations to get armor out.

Seeing how they handled Triple Triad and Verminion and their tournaments, I kind of hope they don't include Blitzball... >x>()

If anything, we'll likely get the much less popular FFX-2 version where we don't really control our teams. That would be my guess, anyway.

How I'd like to see them is more like an Elezen, even taller if you count the ears. Beast-like stance on the feet, though I'd imagine they wouldn't do that sadly, on account of current shoes needing to touch the ground.

Honestly, the foot thing is probably what will make Viera worse than Au Ra, if they get made. The only interesting thing they'd have going for them is their feet (Viera don't have a tail and rabbit ears are just longer cat ears. Oh yeah, I went there). Considering the XIV team didn't seem to redesign head gear for Au Ras (their horns kinda clip through hoods and helmets, yeah?), SE will not design Viera with their unique feet (since that would require redesigning every bit of foot gear).

Yap, that's exactly the problem I see with it and I fear that Viera will be the same, if they decide for them to be the new race. Like some people mentioned before, I'd much rather want to see a race like wolf or dragon instead of another humanoid one, but thanks to the gear problem we have, we will most likely never get them. That kinda sucks.
