The tank first should have asked if you are comfortable with large pulls since a lot of healers are learning, possibly undergeared or just aren't capable of healing to that level (nothing wrong with that.)

The tank also should have waited for you to, at the very least, cast protect. It takes a few seconds to cast and there's no need to ever run off without it. If the healer is slow or forgets to cast it, I just say 'cast protect, please' and off I can go.

She was also stupid for running off a second time when you clearly weren't near her and in healing range. You did nothing wrong and just happened to have an impatient tank.

Even so, is it that difficult for them to take maybe 30 seconds to a minute to just make sure everyone's ready to begin speed running?
I'd rather use a minute at the beginning to be completely ready, than to wipe and take more time. More so when there is bound to be that ONE person that will then take the next 2-3 minutes to yell at the healer or tank for being 'bad scrubs'. :P

Oh, of course you want to use HG, but they used it as a save, not in sequence from the sounds of it. Of course, that's just my take on it.

The whole first room can be pulled in one go in Halatali HM pretty easily, but I wouldn't do it if I was DFing. DF healer quality is often dubious.
(And DPS can be shoddy too.)

And the tank is dumb for not waiting for protect. Lol
    No reason not to.

This is pretty much the mentality of a lot of tanks in this game - egotistical and selfish. What gets me about this, is this is the mentality that they force upon total strangers, and then they wonder why they have such a poor reputation.

Although, I will be the first to admit, it's been quite a long time since I've had a tank like this in DF.

Nearly every experienced tank I've run across is similar to me; they prefer a smooth run, and will wait for things like buffs, healer mana, and a general recognition that the group is moving before pulling anything.
New tanks show their colours fairly quickly, and after a couple handy tips, will typically start playing better.
It's actually a fairly small amount that play badly, but they stick out more in people's minds as we remember bad things better than good (mostly due to the way media's conditioned us to pay attention to negativity)

she was right that you don't need cooldown skills in Halatali but she also had to blame herself too, for not waiting for the healer to be ready.

This right here is the important thing. If the tank himself cannot handle big pull, it doesn't matter if the healer is ready or not.

Anyway, yeah I've met a few that wont even wait for protect. Generally I try to make sure I'm not to far behind them. Well sprint if necessary.

It's even worse when they just rush to fight the boss, while it takes you and other party members 8 seconds to just reach the barrier...

Sometimes I wonder if I should stay outside and wait to see what happens.
