Is this acceptable behaviors for a Tank?

I just joined a DF Roulette for High Level and landed in Halatali Hard Mode and I quickly changed back into my Healer while I was gathering as a Botanist so all of my cooldowns were ready yet like Benediction.

As soon as the dungeon started the Tank RAN up ahead without me finishing casting Protect or Stoneskin II and started to pull ALL of the adds before the boss of the first area and I wasn't anywhere near her to start casting my Healing spells and she was taking damage fiercely and had to use Hallow Ground before I could heal her.

Once that was over she was taking damage within seconds and my cast could barely keep up, I think she was under the spiked... um I can't think of the name... chained mace from above that inflicts vulnerability. I didn't have my Benediction to quickly restore his HP to max and she died while the enemies got to close to 20% or less.

Immediately the party got killed and we warped back and I told her not all of my cooldowns were back up yet and she got the gall to say "You don't need cooldowns" and I told her Benediction would've helped her and I can't have heal that fast... I don't have a lot of Spell Speed (that improves casting times a bit, right?) and she immediately replied "you were barely casting anyway".

She was so far ahead and didn't stick to the party of course I couldn't heal her at first and even then my Heals weren't as fast as the hordes of monster constantly hitting every second.

And then she said "I'm sorry you can't heal while level synced". That rubbed me the wrong way and it was insulting so I left if the Tank wasn't going to pace herself with the party. I'm not a Healer with super Healing speed, my main role is DPS after all, but even so the Tank should've slowed down a bit and waited for me.

While I was typing to her in the Party Chat she went off ahead again without me in tow to make sure she could heal and dies again because she's impatient. I do sometimes do big pulls as a Tank myself when I que as one, but I make sure I have my party nearby to make it easier and if we die from a large group I slow it down and take it easier so we don't constantly die and get through the dungeon.

I may not be the best Healer and I could've done poorly as a WHM this time, but I'm usually good as Heals, though I do have my off days but is this acceptable behaviors for a Tank? I know I should've put up with her and try my best, but I didn't stick around with someone who disregards her team mates like that.

    <Removed> Sorry about that.

Sorry for the rant/rambling but I felt like sharing this with you guys. I took the 30 minute penalty, but I don't mind I'll do something else in the meantime.

In short terms no it isn't acceptable.

    Long nooooooooooooooooooo it isn't acceptable.

Seems like your tank may of been going through a high, and I do not particularly understand the need to try and speed run Halatali hard. Especially considering it's one of the better short story dungeons. But I would avoid naming and shaming, not sure about FFXIV but in the majority of online game forums it tends to be frowned upon by moderator's. However there will always be derps of all classes.

Brush it off and move on. FFXIV seems to be suffering with the GW2 speed run mentality currently, best advice is to make friends with a few tanks and avoid random's.

Now, there's two things. First, if a tank is going to do "big" pulls, they need to make sure it's ok with the group. Check with the healer etc. If the tank cannot properly gauge how well a group may function for pulls after 1-2... well they're not... that good. I typically err on the side of caution and grab just a group or more. If the healer wants to do more I'll go ahead and grab more depending on what the next groups are like etc.

Second, tanks need to make sure their groups are with them. Especially healers. If the healer is lagging for whatever reason behind (check their mp, ask if they're busy, perhaps they need to get a replacement if the group needs to stop after every pull because of x y or z), a tank shouldn't be charging ahead and the healer's not with them. You're dead without a healer.

Now about heals, I obviously don't know exactly how you healed but did you get to put the other cooldowns to use even though Benediction was not up? Divine Seal, Presence, Regen, Swiftcast heals? The tank was dumb to leave without Protect and then to plop themselves into the spot to get vulnerability...? Come on. Typically a big pull will have the tank pop a minor cooldown or two (depending on how much they're running) while the healer sprints, when the tank stops they pop a bigger cooldown (some PLD will pop Hallowed so you can start healing big time without worrying they're dead before you cast). There's no point to a holy stun if the tank is gonna die before a heal can help. If a healer tries to pop a heal at the tank, a stray mob may come at the healer's face as the tank won't always be able to flash every single mob before the stop.

Halatali Hard came in patch 2.2, known for da bes raid and easily speed-runnable dungeons. (So easy they have since decided to plauge all future dungeons with gates to keep you from clearing them in 10 minutes.) When any tank does a mass pull in those dungeons all you can really do is spam Cure II and cooldowns and hope the tank is smart enough to manage his cooldowns too.

All that being said, that tank was an idiot if he actually left without Protect (which is like, free 18% mitigation?) and getting hit by the spike traps. After the first wipe, he should have paced himself and separated his pulls into 2 packs instead of 1. (And really, 2 pulls for the first room of Halatali Hard isnt even that much longer than just one.)

IMO as a healer, if there's tank who keep instruct me as if they know everything about my job and think like I'm so bad at healing, I instead get annoyed and won't heal those tank (Or leave as soon as possible). Seriously I don't want anyone to instruct my gameplay and I don't care if I'm doing DPS and healing as long as whole party still alive.

The tank is an idiot for not even testing your healing capability before mass pulling

Yes, no smart tank would run up and pull mobs asap, a good tank always checks healers before making that kind of decision. a huge red flag is always ones who do not even wait for protect, That let's you know they have no care for anyone in the group. long story short, no, it's not acceptable. please inform the tank to stop being dumb if you witness this.

Furthermore i notice low geared tanks love to pull everything, i guess it's a DPS trying out a tank. but that is also another red flag. if they are taking huge chunks of damage that you can't keep up.

No it's not acceptable behavior but sadly the mentality of a number of tanks today is to pull everything they can and not even ask the healer what works for them. It's also not surprising that even after a wipe that some will proceed to do exactly the same thing.

I would've bounced and ate that penalty, she had no reason (imo) to be all extra

That tank was being dumb. Tanks like those are the reason why speed running looks bad.
